Melting Crayons for the shift gate logo?

Ok, maybe this is lame, but I remember people melting Crayola Crayons back in the day to highlight the logos on Motorola Pagers and was wondering if anyone ever had this idea of doing it for the shift-gate logo? I was thinking of taking a red crayon and melting it into the numbers, the H, and the small circle around it all. What do you think?

Why not just use red paint...you can wipe off the excess before it dries in there.
