Will this happen this year?
I am looking at the schedule of the GT Series Championship, and 5/29 is the qualifying day.

Thanks for your time.

Not this year Tiger

Lime Rock upped the entry fee to $50.00 a ticket because of the Busch North (NASCAR) race on Saturday. Between that and the
food you're talking $80-90 per person. Kind of stiff price wise for couples.
NSXPO 2004 is taking a huge amount of planning time. Save your pennies NSXPO is on the way.

Ouch..
Thanks for the information, Peter!

Also Tiger

Additional reasons: Don Gallo's River Run is May 22 Rich Hutte's New Hampshire event is June 19th. Lime Rock on the 29th might be too much and might keep Xers from attending either Don's event and Rich's.

I'm still going to Lime Rock on that day to see the races. Always have. It's only 40 min. from my house.

Hi Guys,

I do not have very much interest in the Bush(SP) Cars. Maybe if I lived 40 miles away, like Joe...

In addition to the touring and Bush cars, what other classes are running this year? What cars will be running that Saturday?

Rich

This is what it says
(As a side note, I think that American Le Mans Series New England Grand Prix in July 2-5 should be fun - Corvette, Dodge Viper, Ferrari 550 Maranello, Saleen S7R, Porsche 911 and Ferrari 360 Modena):

Lime Rock Park’s traditional Memorial Day weekend event will be bigger, and better, than ever in 2004. For the first time, race fans will get to experience the best of both worlds – at the same time – at the Road Racing Center of the East.

See the most competitive, action-packed sports car and stock car racing in North America from two of the world’s most prestigious motorsports organizations – SCCA Pro Racing and NASCAR

The NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch North Series will be a part of the Road Racing Classic lineup, staging an 82-lap race on Saturday, May 29. Then on Memorial Day see the best sports car drivers around tear up the track, continuing the sport’s longstanding tradition of racing at Lime Rock on this special holiday.

There’s never a shortage of fender-rubbing action when the 3,300-pound stock cars of the Busch North Series visit a road course. And with a talented mix of road racing specialists and oval track experts in the 36-car field, the race at Lime Rock Park is traditionally one of the most fiercely contested races of the year.

The Busch North Series features NASCAR’s top drivers in the Northeast such as Andy Santerre, Mike Stefanik, Dale Quarterley, Kelly Moore and Mike Olsen, and rising stars like Martin Truex Jr., Paul Wolfe and Ryan Moore.

The SCCA Pro Racing Speed GT and Touring Car Championships will anchor the Mohegan Sun Grand Prix portion of the weekend, continuing a Memorial Day tradition that stretches back more than 30 years.

The SCCA Pro Racing Speed World Challenge Championships are one of the most exciting spectacles in all of racing, featuring starting grids of 35-plus cars, standing-starts and an all-out sprint format.

The Speed GT Championship includes top-end sports cars such as the Cadillac CTS-V, Audi RS 6, BMW M3, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper and Volvo S60 R, while the Speed Touring Car Championship showcases sport compacts like the Acura RSX-S, BMW 325i, Mazda Protegé ES, Mercedes-Benz C230, and Lexus IS300.

The Speed GT & Touring Car Championships are just two of the five road racing series that will be practicing, qualifying and racing on Friday, Saturday and Monday. The Mohegan Sun Grand Prix will also feature the SCCA Pro Racing Mazdaspeed Miata Cup Presented by Hankook Tires, Formula BMW USA and the Spec Racer Challenge.

The Mazdaspeed Miata Cup Presented by Hankook Tires showcases the first generation Mazda Miata body style with minor performance modifications, allowing a driver to succeed on a reduced budget. Last year at the Grand Prix the series drew a field of 28 drivers.

In Germany and Asia, Formula BMW has already been established as one of the most successful series for talented young drivers. Now Formula BMW is also offering young racers in the United States and Canada the chance to prove their skills behind the wheel of a state of the art single-seater in a new championship that debuts in 2004.

SCCA Club Racing has been the backbone of Lime Rock Park since the track opened in 1957, and the Spec Racer Challenge gives the local racers an opportunity to compete on the big stage on Memorial Day weekend.

The Road Racing Classic will also feature two events that epitomize the new generation of car enthusiast and motorsports fan.

Mazda Extreme Street, one ofthe top sports compact, tuner and aftermarket car shows in the country, will be held on Sunday, May 30. On Memorial Day, the sport's newest crazy - drifting - will take over the track during the lunch hour. Professional drifters will put on an exhibition that will showcase the side-to-side action that makes drifting so exciting.
