I'm not sure I believe it.

The pictures just don't add up.

The NSX interior pictures look like a NSX and the McLaren pictures look like a McLaren. And those areas in the pictures where you might be able to tell that this car is legit - are conveniently missing.

I don't buy it.

I don't buy it either, for the reasons posted by both Jimbo and POWERED by HONDA.

I wonder what you'd get if you actually won the auction....

I think it is fake.

If you look at the side shot of the interior, you will notice that the A pillar and B pillar are from the NSX. Look at where the A pillar and B pillar are on the exterior shots of the Mclaren. The B pillar on the Mclaren slopes back, whereas the NSX B pillar almost comes straight down...like in the interior shot...

Also the side shot of the interior shows an NSX window. The McLaren window is shaped differently and uses a "window within a window" that is clearly visible in the side shot of the car. Where is the little window in the interior shot?

Guys. Slow down.

Those are exterior pics of an actual Mclaren F1. People do this all the time. I've recognized those pictures from Calendars, Magazines, Photo Shoots, Internet sites for a long time now.

You know how people use actual Dealer photography of a car when they want to sell it and say "sorry I don't have pictures of my car, but it looks just like the one above but in black" or whatever.

This is basically the same thing. (except its a little more shady since replica's always look a little bit off). He will never be able to sell that thing without genuine pictures of the exterior. No one buys a replica thinking "Oh yeah I'm sure it looks just like the real thing, I don't need to see what it looks like, I'll just take your word for it."

With that said, I'm really curious to see how it turned out. Cars like the MR2 Spyder and Fiero were really never meant to be high end sports cars, thus the body just wasn't built to be slammed and the windshield with such high rake. The NSX is a lot closer to the real thing than they are with unibody construction, lightweight materials, and a wider body.

With all due respect, Rubber Chicken? Pahleeeze!! Guys don't do it all the time. Usually when you have a car to sell, especially a kit car, you take pics of the actual car, if you have it of course.

This has fraud written all over it. Of course this is a collection of pics. Some taken in a forest, some with rocks, and others in a crowded parking lot.

Go bid on it, send the guy with Zero feedback 10 grand in cash, ans see what you get.

I e mailed the seller asking him if he had actual pictures of the replica or was he going to continue to use the factory manufacturer's pictures of actual McLarens. I also asked him, what kind of vehicle was used for the picture of the pedals.

I also e mailed ebay asking them to watch out for this listing. I am getting real tired of this crap. However, there is a chance we are all wrong and the seller could be just too lazy to put accurate pictures of the vehicle on the listing, but I doubt it.

No, you're right. The link is no longer valid.

I dunno, maybe we have differing opinions on what "all the time" means. But you guys act like you've never seen anyone do it before, and I've seen it left and right.

I'll agree though that its retarded to not show the real pix for a kit car.

The listing was deleted within 2 hours of my e mail to ebay and the seller. Either it is a complete coincidence, the seller got scared, or ebay is starting to take fraud more seriously. I really hope it is the latter.

Another thing I saw was that he said it took 4 year to complete. Ok. Built on a 2002 chassis? Yeah sure.
I'm glad it gone now.
