MB S55

[BJV]

I'm in the process of trying to find a 2000 or 2001 S55 for my mom. The dealers in my area (Baton Rouge and New Orleans) have been pretty uninterested in ordering one - they are very interested in selling the 500's that are on the lot.

Anyone have experience with a good MB dealership or perhaps know where a new S55 is?

MB dealers are absolutely terrified of getting sideways with the national office, because it directly and immediately affects their allotment of cars. I was having all kinds of problems with my local dealer until I called the MB customer service 800 number and vented. A day later, the local dealer was kissing my butt.

It may or may not work, but it is worth the five minutes to call MB corporate and rant that "I really want to buy one of your cars but the local dealer won't do anything to help me and is treating me badly."

I'm surprised they're being so unhelpful with the AMG office being so close to you.
