Well I am not sure if this is the right forum but I thought I would share my story and hopefully help some folks out. To make a long story short.
1. Bought a Margahills bumper and got a GREAT price (should have known it was to good to be true)
2. Took it to my local custom shop...
3. Shops react.. "Nice bumper!!! you sure this is the right one?"
4. Found out it is a Marghill bumper knock-off..... :frown:

It is not a bad knock-off, but not quite the the quality I or the shop was expecting as far as instructions and things "fittings". Luckily the company I bought it from is being cool about it and they have contacted the shop doing the work and helping out when they can.
UNFORTUNATELY.... I was hoping to have some pictures posted by now... but they are 2 weeks into it and still working on the fitment!! UGH !
I am hoping to have it by this weekend so maybe I can get some pictures posted by next week

Not for nothing but I would have liked to see pictures of how they are dealing with the fitmet issue and what they did to make it work. Even if you had bought a original margahills bumper its not a take it off and mount it right on installation. Good luck with the install by the way and I hope everything works out.

I have the real marga hills kit that I purchased back in 2001 from Dynamic Autosports in Irvine CA and that didnt fit right either, so dont feel bad I also have knock off marga hills parts and had the same problems, also how old is the car it may have been in an accident and it was never reported and that is why you could be having fitment issues... unless you are the first owner of your car and it has never been in an accident then it might be your car that is the problem and not the kit.

2 weeks into it eh? Must be busy doing other things because i do not see what would take this length of time to accomplish? :frown:

That body shop must really suck because i do all my own body work and I think myself with my handy dremmel could have had a nice fit within one day ... not to mention I have done it a few times =D .... But there was a time when I didnt know anything about body kits and fitment, so take your car back and do it yourself, trust me you will get it right =D

I am actually getting pictures "as they progress..." So I will try to get them posted. I think the problem was the shop thought this was going to be pretty straight forward (day or 2... ) now that it is not... I am in a long line of other cars. They tell me is should be done by Tuesday/Wednesday of next week. Hind site.... I think I would have waited until the winter and just done it myself !!!!
However, the SHOP is REALLY trying to get it right... I think they see me as a repeat customer and they want to make me happy !!!

Soon as I get pictures... I will post them !

Well it has been 4 weeks and I should have my car back by Wednesday.
Lesson #1 learned - When a body shop says that "they can squeeze this in between some of the other cars...." I should say NO DEAL !!
The only good thing to come out of this is that they feel guilty it has taken them this long so I they are going to give me a great deal. They probably have about 15 hours into this so far. I guess they have had to do A LOT of work to get the lines to come out looking OEM. I have attached photos so you can kind of see their progress.

I SHOULD have the final pictures by Thursday !

What kind of body shop uses duct tape on the finished paint????

That is definetly not a good copy of the MH bumper. The last one I bought fit like a glove. MH has really worked through any fitment issues they had in the past. The problem comes in with so many companies making copies and selling them as real. Good luck with your car, and yeah what kind of body shop uses duct tape on finished paint. I guess they like extra work cleaning off the residue.

What shop uses duck !!! DAMN GOOD question!
I told them all they did was make themselves a lot of extra work.
I told them I expected it to be cleaned and polished !!!

Tell them that you want to see the duct tape when they take it off from your car, be sure to check and see if the clear coat is on the tape, if so, they have alot more work to put into your car!!!!!!

As far as what you are saying I would agree. It seems that Marga is a very good company, that is why I knew I was in trouble when there was so much fitment problems. The company I got it from was www.aerokits.net
Part of it is my fault. When I asked them if it was a MargaHills and they said yes, I should have known that a MargaHills at about 1/4 the price SHOULD have been suspicious to me....

Well dont feel too bad, Mine had been in the body shop for over 2 months  and im just doing some skirts, spoiler and hood. Orginal fit on the spoiler and hood were good tovery good. Just paint and install. The skirts did require quite a bit of work though. Good luck, I hope it is to your satisfaction when it comes out.

I was wondering that as well.

Well I got the car back on Saturday.... and I must say that it was a LONG time but I am very happy with it. They did a great job and the shop cut me a great deal. They ended logging about 20 hours of work into the bumper and about 14 of it was fitment. They really got eveything to line-up quit nice.
There was a mesh insert that came with it for the front. I did not put it on cuz I thought it looked pretty cheesy. :frown:
Any suggestions? Other than that, I am pretty happy. I would like to get a more aggressive rear wing. (maybe a Marga Hills... a REAL one !!! )
The wheels that I have on the car are OK. They are Simons (the ones Comptech use to sell) they came with the car but I would rather go with a 5-spoke wheel.
I attached some pics...

You really need to get some side skirts for that thing now. It looks unfinished the way it is. You might also take alook at the Burn up wing on the SOS site. Its pretty aggressive looking and has nice fitment.

The SOS burn-up is a little TOO aggresive for me ! I would like to get the
TAITEC GT500 Spoiler. I think that looks that best. I seen a red early 90's NSX on tunerzine.com site that I liked a lot.
As far as side skirts... I would consider it but I do not like the wide body look so that would probably be all that I would add.
