Hi, I just bought the 91 for a week now, and I'm wondering doing an oil change for it. I don't think they have put synthetic oil in it... now It had 94k miles on it, would that be little too late for changing it to Synthetic oil?? People told me Syn oil will introduce oil leak in older engines. True???

Blue Brake Fluid!!?? Does any body know what brand is that, I used Motul 600 for my other cars, and if the blue brake fluid is not a good one, I would like to change it to Motul.

Anyone can give me some suggestion??

I'd switch to Mobile 1 10w-30 synthetic motor oil and replace the brake fluid in both the ABS and regular system with Castrol LMA. If you plan on tracking the car then Motul will be a better choice.

I'd try to find the service history of last motor and brake fluid change and if I couldn't determine the last change, then I'd plan on changing them both. The current blue brake fluid may be ATE, which is a good fluid and if fresh then I’d wait to change it at its regular service interval, which is every 2 years.

No. Go ahead and use synthetic if you like.

False.

It is probably ATE Super Blue, which is good fluid also. While I use Motul also, I would just leave it if that's what they put in.

I'm with Ken, it is ATE Blue, also good fluid. I do not recall the wet/dry boiling points (where's that darn Forums Nazi when you need him?:)) to compare but it is in the same "ball park" as the Motul 600.

I switch between the ATE Blue and ATE Gold during bleeding, since it makes it very easy to know you have bled all the old fluid out.

DRY:401F -- WET:284F --- DOT3 MINIMUM
DRY:446F -- WET:311F --- DOT4 MINIMUM
DRY:500F -- WET:356F --- DOT5 MINIMUM
DRY:502F -- WET:343F --- VALVOLINE SYNPOWER
DRY:509F -- WET:365F --- MOTUL 5.1
DRY:527F -- WET:302F --- AP RACING 551
DRY:536F -- WET:392F --- ATE SUPERBLUE/TYP200
DRY:590F -- WET:410F --- AP RACING 600
DRY:590F -- WET:518F --- CASTROL SRF
DRY:593F -- WET:420F --- MOTUL RBF600
DRY:610F -- WET:421F --- NEO-SYNTHETIC SUPER DOT 610
DRY:620F -- WET:425F --- COBALT SUPER XRF

Don't fear the synthetic. It won't induce oil leaks, but it will tend to find them more readily if they already exist (in my experience at least).
I've always used ATE Super Blue with good results.
Best Wishes, SF
