Thanks for all the resources here prime, and for everyones help and comments. I am now the proud owner of a red/blk 91 nsx with built motor and BBSC. I couldn't be happier. It way exceeded my expectations on power, needs a little work in the suspenion and brake area now. Well I flew into Atlanta Saturday monring and James (thanks again james for a great car) picked me up at the airport and I think I pulled a mucscle in my face from grinning :biggrin:so hard when he rolled up. We took care of business and I headed out on a 750 mile journey back to chicago. The first couple hundred miles were awesome. I could not help myself from laying into it when it was safe. It goes from 80-140 so fast, I was expecting it to be much slower. Then in Tennessee I got boxed in by some dumbass who thought it would be wise to carry gravel on the back of a flatbed trailer. Well 1 little window chip/crack and 10 or so little nicks later I got around him. I did not notice the chips at first due to the bugs or I would have got his plate. I shook that off and was having to much fun to really get upset and continued on to Indiana. Now here is where everything goes wrong. I decide to take it easy and call it a good run so far(indiana always has tons of cops out), sit back and relax, put on the cruise and listen to some music. Well that was my mistake. I was coming up to pass a sedan in the right lane, cruise at 78, and can't get over. Looking, looking and all of a sudden almost a whole semi-truck tire comes out from under the sedan, he rolls right overs it no problem. Me not having anywhere to go and being 5" off the ground hit this tire, must have been at least 75% of the tire which was at least 8"-10" high off the road. I am like f@#$#, Sh@#@, hoping it is not bad, I pull off at the next gas station, 3hrs outside Chicago. I see tons of water coming out from under the front and think I punctured the radiator or a hose. I jack up the car after I burn my hands because the jack is so hot. Lay in the dirty, oily gas station parking lot while like ten kids are asking me what it is and if its fast, then they give me all there semi truck tire stories. I am starting to think I am riding home with some weird tow truck driver for three hours but luckily it was the AC drian tube letting off water like it should. I am relieved but still see leakage towrds the back. Inspect further and find it barley dripping antifreeze and oil. I burned my hands again trying to get the (poorly designed) oil cap off.(why isn't the coolant tank 6" down so you can get the oil cap off?) Checked the oil level, quart down. Top it off, assume the leak is from the oil return line on the pan getting bashed or the oil filter. Coolant leak, either a pinhole prick in the hoses or the jolt shook coolant out the overflow on the BBSC coolant tank. Checked the level and it was OK. Not knowing what else might be wrong I limp it home at 3000rpms with my eyes fixed on the gauges. By the time I got home it was down another quart and still dripping. Well the damage so far is that my lip is gone, brake ducts?, windshield chipped, the lower valence needs replacing, fog lights smashed, dent in the drivers floorpan, oil leak, and dirty ass underbody now. I need to get someone to bring their car over so I car visually try to see if anything else is wrong. If enough is wrong I will make an insurance claim(1000 deduct). I am pretty sure the leaks I can fix pretty easy, its just I never looked under one of these I don't know what it is supposed to look like, therefore don't know what else is wrong. Yeah it sucks, but what can you do. Well I'm gonna fix it and drive the hell out of it and fix it again if needed. I couldn't drive it today(no plates yet) so a few buddies brought over their stage 2 STI's and we had a detail day. Washed, clay bared and waxed all three cars, and full detail. They all looked really nice at the end of the day. I'll put up a coulpe of pics but they do not reflex how good they really look. She's all clean now and I put to bed with her big brother. I might have to go out and check on her in a bit, just make sure it is really there. Well, I couldn't be happier and hope I never have to sell it. And so begins my next project car/obsession. Look for updates as I dump as much money as I possibly can into this already pretty awesome car. Oh yeah, I have car OCD and can't stop buying stuff until it has one of everthing, lol. Looking forward to meeting you chicago owners, I plan on joining in on events whenever I can. Finally, I have my NSX after 17yrs of waiting!
