Thats quite a bit of weight needed to balance on the last pic. You should have tried to remount the tire in a different position.

Yeah I agree with the weights on the last picture, ask them to rotate the tire 180 degrees on that rim and then balance it. Also, please lower that car now -I beg you.

The wheels look great I had the same model but hyperblack. Unfortunately the quality on mine was pretty bad. The paint came off on 3 of 4 wheels and they wobbled on the freeway. They do look great though, I especially like that finish.

The weights are to offset the SmartTire sensor that is located opposite the weights.
The sensors strap on the wheel with a big "hose clamp."
I wanted the tire pressure/temp sensors because of the frequent long distance (and sometimes high speed) driving I'm into now. Just a little security.

That's why I posted these photos - didn't see any others with the machined finish. Now at least people know what they look like. These are temporary wheels anyway, until I get new Antera 309's that are now on order (and on order and on order). They seem to be taking forever! The 309's are much more "Ferrari like."
I've had some wobbling too, but I don't think it's in the wheels. As soon as I get that sorted out I'll make a post about it. Could be the rack and pinion needs replaced - or ??? We shall see. I guess the only way to tell if it's the wheels or not would be to swap them onto another NSX and drive it on the same roads. If it wobbles on the other car too, then it's the wheels. I've had wobbling ever since I bought this car due to the previous owner running over a curb. Now I'm in "check and replace mode" until I get rid of the wobbling.
I'll never forget how great my 77 911S felt after replacing the rack and pinion - drove like a new car. Maybe that's what this car needs?

Talk to Mark at Dali Racing! He's fantastic!

With that wide tires at the front lowering might cause some rubbing at full lock. Still looks okay. NSX is still lower than most cars on the road anyway. Looks great.

Spacers Needed!

Now that I've had these wheels on my car for a while I'll say this:
I was told spacers were not required for these wheels and installed them without any.
The right front hit the brake caliper for a bit when first installed, but quickly wore a small groove in the wheel and the clicking went away. It left a noticeable worn spot on the nice red caliper.
I then hit something with the left front and trashed the wheel. The first wheel had no spacer and did not hit the caliper, but the replacement wheel hits the caliper BIG TIME. After 40 miles of driving it's still sounding off from the rubbing on the caliper, which is becoming very heated from all the rubbing. Seems there's a bit of a tolerance problem with these wheels at the 5Zigen plant.

I would definetly suggest 3mm spacers be used with these front wheels, or you could be repainting your calipers as I am.

(They are 17x8 with 43mm offset)

Re: Spacers Needed!

If you noticed the wheel (back then and now) rubbed why didn't you return it or exchange it for another wheel (maybe MJ could've test fitted it before he sent it to you)? I would never run a wheel that hits the caliper, but that's me.

I'm guessing that after the wheel stops rubbing that it'll have to be rebalanced due to the shaved metal on the inner spokes. Just a thought...

Hope it works out for you :)

btw, what happened to the Antera that you ordered?
