Luggage space dimensions?

Hi- I'm negotiating with a guy in AZ on a 2001, and if it works out, a buddy and I will fly out and drive it back to OH.

I found the "storage and luggage" wiki page http://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/Storage_and_Luggage that recommends specific Travelpro luggage, but those item numbers don't seem to exist now.

Anyway, could someone provide the basic dimensions of the luggage space, and/or recommend specific non-extravagant luggage that efficiently uses the minimal space available?

Thanks-

http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showt...X-OWNER-NEEDS-INFO?highlight=trunk+dimensions prime has a good search function. Look at post #7 ..........good luck.My wife and I packed for 2 filling every nook and cranny including removing spare tire and fitting a carry on size luggage behind the radiator.

Very helpful, thank you.

Just to make it easy for anyone else searching for this, a couple quotes and pics from previous threads:

A 22" & a 26" carry-on would fit nicely.

Two 24X17X10 suitcases fit nicely.

(the red dimensions are hard to read, they are: height 10", overall width 52", front-to-rear dimension on left side 24", on right side 19")

He went cross country with his NSX and had every inch packed.

My wife and I packed for a formal wedding and a three day stay at the venue by using one "airline overhead size" rolling bag (for her), a medium duffle (for me), some garment bags for the dress clothes, shoes stuffed in any little space, and a bit of stuff (drinks, snacks, windbreakers, etc.) stuffed in the footwells of the passenger seat.
Really not too big a deal.

Hi- I'm negotiating with a guy in AZ on a 2001, and if it works out, a buddy and I will fly out and drive it back to OH.

If you do decide to buy the car, be sure to not only pack clothes and essentials, but also anything that you might need if you run into any problems.
Please note that I am not putting the car down. I bet it is well preserved, rust free example of a 2001. Instead, I am just sharing a word of caution. It is a long drive for an old car that is new to you. There has been countless of success stories of long drives across many states and I very much wish you the same experience. However, there also have been stories where something goes wrong....could be minor, but annoying when you're in the middle of nowhere.

Therefore, I suggest bringing things like flashlight, electrical tape, duct tape, tie wraps, wrenches, screwdrivers, fuses, volt meter, etc.
When I purchase mine, the trunk had two soft backpacks. The other side of the trunk was filled with spare parts that the seller sold with the car.

I hope the negotiations goes well for both parties. I wish you happy travels with fun filled memories on your drive back to home.

Yep, thanks- always a good idea.

Been there, done that!

The AZ NSX wasn’t the right one, and I was then bidding on a very nice one on BaT, but $135k seemed kinda expensive lol.

Heeeeey....great! Okay, so you definitely know the drill. That's an excellent story about your M3. Fun times for you and your buddy, Dave.

Sorry the AZ one did not work out for you, but there are others. Winter is coming so you might see less NSX being sold, but with Covid and shelter in place, things might be different.

Going back to your question, just be aware that the trunk is shallow (which you probably already noticed from the dimensions). Plus, it also gets hot with it hovering over the exhaust. Therefore, I recommend keeping electronics in the cabin. Not to say anything will happen, but batteries don't like heat too much.

Funny Fact: If you are curious why the trunk has a funny shape to the left, that is because it is designed to carry your flat tire. They thought of everything. *knock on wood* that you won't need to try it out. If you get a well taken care example, the tool kit should have a bag to cover the tire. (I think it comes with the car during purchase) It's a plastic bag with a diagram, but usually gets lost during ownership.

Happy car shopping. Hope you find that right one soon and enjoy another adventure with your buddy. Keep us posted, some of us like to vicariously live through another new member's intro to the nsx community.
