Lubrication of Door Lock Mechanism?

I just had the inside driver door handle break, and fixed it with epoxy--we'll see how long it holds. I notice both the exterior and interior driver side handles have more resistance and are much less smooth than the passenger side, so maybe if I had lubricated the mechanism, I might not have broken the handle, and others may avoid breaking theirs if lubricated--questions is, where and what to lubricate--it's not obvious to me, and before I jump into the manual, I thought I'd ask if anyone knows a quick easy lubrication point?
Before you ask, the handle did not bread at the "thingies" part--unfortunately it was the plastic handle just before the thingy. I want to make it work a little easier and avoid another break.....Thank You

Re: How to maybe keep from breaking door handle

Looks like I'm answering my own question--and you may want to do this to avoid breaking your inside driver door handle. After breaking mine, fixing it with epoxy and reinstalling, I realized the driver side was harder to open with either the outside or inside handle. Took off the door skin, and found the latch mechanism dry, and even a bit corroded looking. Greased it (manual shows a picture of a grease gun when showing the exploded view). Now, it opens much easier and smoother with either handle--inside or outside, and I think I may have avoided breaking the door handle had I done this earlier.
