low compression JE pistons / factory rods

I plan on turbo'ing my car around this time next year so low compression pistons is a definite consideration for me, but say I install them now without the turbo...how much HP will be robbed with 9.5 instead of the stock CR?

Per request, I'm willing to split them up. $500.00 for the rods, $500.00 for the pistons & hardware.

Hi Brian, I asked the same thing on the F/I forum. HP Loss on low comp pistons

I think it would be around 5 h.p. A shift from 10.2:1 to 9.5:1 (JE spec) is less than 1 compression point. Going down one compression point will mean a 2%. So it's 2% of 270 h.p. (or 290) or around 5 h.p.

Not much, maybe 15 hp. Greg Hardee won his class running a car with a low compression motor NA (same compression ratio) in OTC.
