This was my latest race at the Hendersonville Airfield in North Carolina yesterday May 28, 2009

This was a good match up with Forged Performance Brand New Nissan GT-R (Japan’s newest Supercar) vs. my LoveFab Honda NSX Turbo (Japan’s first Supercar)

The GT-R had 120 more horsepower over me at 520hp while I had about 400hp.

The GT-R also had All Wheel Drive which works wonders when it is raining out like it was yesterday.

I was about 900lbs lighter which is why this should have been a good match up.

Enjoy!

Same video with music

Although I didnt win, it would have been pretty close without the rain.

Also it shows me the Stage 1 LoveFab NSX would easily walk away from a stock GT-R.

I don't think nsx was considered Japans first supercar....toyota 2000gt was more of Japans supercar...

Nice video, thanks for sharing. I’m looking forward to my turbo build this winter. My goal is 400whp, and if my car can hold its own with a GT-R, I will be more then happy! Sick Car!

I never wanted to drill into my dash to secure the pod but with the new additional torque, I need to...either that or double stick tape.

Use some Velcro it will work better, and you will be able to remove it down the road if needed...

maybe the NSX was "Japan's first "true" Supercar" .....:biggrin: (and the debate goes forever)

Thanks for sharing! That was a surprisingly close matchup... I can't wait to see the dry-track version

besides... your car looked completely badass screaming down the runway. I'm only "meh" about the new GT-R design, so you win in that category

A road course/track contest will likely expose the NSX's true potentials more as it can out handle the heavier GT-R (however, AWD will give him faster exit speed too). Unfortunately, the NSX doesn't stand a chance on the straights with any car with 520hp and monster torque (wet or dry). Although I'm not yet a GT-R fanboy, a stock GT-R will own alot of sports cars including the NSX all day. BTW, Nice effort and video.

With all due respect, I think you have it backwards.

The GT-R is a beast on the track. I have driven a stock GT-R on the MPH track in Hastings, Nebraska and that car shines the best on the track; I have never driven such a balanced car before. Don't let its heavy weight fool you. It really excels and it made for the track. I do not think the NSX would be anywhere near it when it comes to the GT-Rs advanced braking and superior handling.

Don't get me wrong, I love the NSX and I am not a GT-R fan by any means but I have to give it respect where it is due.

In a straight line, I think many production cars can out accelerate the GT-R especially when it is not using its launch control feature. I figured I had more of a chance especially with a rolling start (which took away its launch control ability) but I certainly didn't factor it might be raining that day. I honestly feel if it wasn’t raining, I would have easily overcome for the 120hp difference.

I would certainly say I would beat every stock GT-R even in the rain. Remember this was Forged Performance personal GT-R with all of the goodies available at the time.

Either way I had a great time and I have to take my hat off for the GT-Rs abilities.
