The clicking is one of the damper motors trying to move and not being able to. Either because it's physically blocked or there is something wrong with the head unit and it is trying to run it beyond its travel. It’s most likely the mode or vent motor, cycle through the modes and sees if any of them get you the clicking sound if not remove the center vent and check for a problem with the vent there.
