I would agree with svalleynsx that these are typically urban legends, but this sure sounds real.
I think the shockjock may have had it coming to him.

Radio companies spend tons of $$ For promotions.
This guy is a UK version of Howard Stern apparently, so this kind of stunt would be right up his alley
Most importantly:
The seller (which is the Wife's name) sold a bunch of Mr. Men books to the same person (not the buyer of the car, but an identical buyer) a few days earlier. This buyer left about 6 positive feedbacks less than 30 minutes after the sale ended (THAT IS FAST SHIPPING!) with many different "comments" for the feedback, after bidding for all these books 10 minutes after the auction started. This was likely an attempt to prop up the feedback score of Hayleyshaw for the stunt, not knowing the feedback # will not add on for identical buyers comments . Also in the same few days his wife bought some sort of Dildo that reqquired local pickup only (brave woman) and a first "additon" waterproof Peter Pan book for .05 from a guy who sold this the same day:

Most obvious is all these other items are weird, have no pictures, or details in terms of payment, shipping, etc. All the items actually were next to free in terms of transaction price.
The Buyer, who registered 6 months ago, has no feedback, and the only other bid they have made recently was for a POS car here in the states (and it was a dinky bid at that) the day before this sale. You are telling me this person just happens to be on Ebay looking for that car when it comes up for sale, but never bids or sells anything on ebay? I think not. Lastly, it took 5 mins and 3 seconds for the buy to happen, which may make some of you think it was legit, since they left a car on auction that someone else could have swooped in and bought (a legit buyer) if given the chance in that 5 min., but those of you who sell on ebat knows that it takes about 5 min. for a listing to appear after you start the auction, so all the "buyer had to do" was wait that time before buying it. Obviously, they could have gotten the item # from the listing and typed it in (assuming as I do, that they were "in on it") to buy it 10 seconds after the lisitng started, but this would have set off the BS meters with people like me who know you can't search and find an item that quickly after a listing is posted unless you know the item #. Also, how did the newspaper contact the buyer? You can't get their contact info via ebay and they are "anonymous", unless they emailed him/her through ebay, which I doubt, since this would be pretty crappy fact-checking. Good thing she happened to have access to that picture of him and the car when she went to list the auction!
I bet if a good investigation was done we would find out the whole thing was a publicity stunt.
Someone prove me wrong!!!!!!!!
