Hi all,

I'm in the LA area (Los Angeles proper, as in Hollywood, downtown, and the west side... I guess west hollywood and beverly hills would also qualify :) )

One of my wheels is leaking. I don't know if it's the tire or wheel, but I have Blitz type 03 modular rims. I've had leaky modular rims on previous cars, so I know that could possibly be the problem (I'm cursed, I'm telling you...). It's losing about 5-10 pounds a week, so I'm putting an extra bit of air in there once a week... a real nuisance.

Can anyone recommend a shop that can do *complete* diagnosis & possible repair of this situation (including removing wheels, mounting, balancing, possibly leaving my car overnight, everything)?

I don't have the time or the resources to lift my car and take the wheels off, etc... and would also appreciate a shop that deals w/ "nice" wheels and cars on a regular basis, so no national shops, unless there's some special case... not to sound like an asshole, but I don't really want to take my NSX and Blitz modulars to Tire Pros.

Thanks for any recommendations, they are much appreciated!!!

Before you waste your time going to a wheel place.. Test the valve stem.

Spray some soapy water on the valve stem, valve area and also the base of the valve stem where the stem and wheel meet. Seem if bubbles develops. Sometime older valve and rubber seal may leak.

This is what a tire shop will do to test for leak so you may just want to do it yourself before some goof impact torque your wheel back on the car.

remove the wheel and put it in a bath of water. Look for bubbles reappearing after you clear out all the initial bubbles. This will tell you where it is coming from..
