Hey guys, hopefully someone can clarify this for me, what is the process when buying a car in ONT?

In B.C. we have a govt. transfer form that gets filled out by both parties and then you go in and have it validated.

How does Ontario work?

No, You the Buyer take the Bill of Sale with all the other Documents to MOT and pay the taxes to get the transfer.

- You will need the following..
- Emission test
- Safety Cert
- Bill of Sale
- Signed Title (by current Owner)
- Insurance

But I think you have to tell us what you are looking to do.

Do you want to buy an ON car and bring it to BC?

If that is the case, my guess is that you'd pay the seller and look after tax and other stuff reqd for BC registration in BC.

There is a seller's package that Ontario private sellers need to provide the purchaser with. It details the car's history of owners & registered accidents etc. Dave is correct. Buying it here & registering it in Ontario is different than purchasing an Ontario car and registering it in BC.

Sorry, guys - I left out the details.

I am buying the car in Ontari and bringing it to B.C.

So far I have been told I need the signed title and bill of sale, I am not sure if I need the Ontario sellers package.

I think by law the seller needs to provide that to you.

I don't think that you need it to register in BC but there is info on it that you may be good for you.

I think it's $20

I got one when I sold my NSX to Shawn in Winnipeg.
