I'm making some serious considerations at purchasing this vehicle

http://nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php?t=151957

My main question for all my NorCal Primers is would this particular exhaust be okay in California? The car has test pipes and I'd ask the owner to reinstall the cats, of course.

Needs tb/wp, hoses and he's willing to let it go as is for $27,000. I'd also have to change that suspension. 1.3" drop won't get me on my driveway.

Appreciate any feedback

Thanks,

Dave

The exhaust shouldn't be a problem as long as the stock cats are in place. Might also want to ask for the stock ecu chip if they have it as it might not pass CA smog with the non-factory chip in. They have tightened up the limits in the last couple years with regards to emissions.

I've read that specifically for the '91 5MT model they decreased the emissions limits. If anything I'll just go get some CLEAN Power ;)

You're going to purchase the car without checking it out in person?

If this car is what I decide to purchase, I already have some reservation, I'd ask an Orlando local Primer to go look at the car for me. If that checks out I'd schedule a PPI at First Class Automotive. Purchases like this happen all the time. Tim Bromley, from Atlanta, just sold his pristine '91 silver w/49k miles to a guy in SoCal without seeing the him face-to-face.

Sounds like a good car. $27k is a reasonable price given it needs tb/wp. Budget $1500+ for that and another $1-$2k to ship the car back to CA.
