Posted this in General forum also, but it probably belongs here:

I did an inspection on a 1991 NSX, and used the FAQ section on the snap ring issue to se if it was in the range.

This is a 1991 red/black Honda NSX, Europe version, originally sold in Germany.
I found the label, but it had a different format than listed here on Prime: "NSX trensmission in snap ring: J4A4-1003542 --> J4A4-1005978"

Now, the one I found was: BJ4 32107 SLO J403
then some bar codes, and in small writing below that:
BJ4954Z0475

What the hell?? Is this the transmission number or did I locate the label wrong.
Help please! The number was right where the Prime directions told me, a white plastic/paper looking thing fastened to some wires. If this is the wrong location, can anyone post a picture on where to really look?

Trond, this is the car next to your dealership.

Thanks

You got the wrong number.
My own NSX came from Germany, and the tranny number was in the same format as the format used in the US.
Using the faq on Prime, my tranny looked like in range, and it was...............
Anyway, look al the way down onto your trannycase, and then the number is stuck on the second part of the case, where the tranny is connected to the engine.
