Guys,

Been lurking on the site for a while - registered recently and then followed SHAWN1075s rebuild story as I am in Tampa as well and I think I spoke to him on the phone at one point when he was selling the Silver 04 -

Regardless, I have beer money and champagne taste (like everyone) - I've researched all I could on this car online, through Prime and everywhere else. one little issue with a hyper extended door that was fixed, the rest looks minor/cosmetic and been used a a daily driver for the last 2 years - so it's reliable - I actually will use it as a daily as well, but I put like 5000 miles/yr at most on a car as I work from home...

Any thoughts on this car? - 2001, ~$33k, 56k miles, I can live with the auto tranny (has paddle kit) - I'll get it to pristine when i own it - seems like i can't get too hurt on the car - right?

WELCOME COMMENTS as I have read thousands of posts on Prime and you guys ROCK.

Thanks!

The price seems fair. It is an auto though.... yikes...

Looks like it is missing a front lip. Wheel center caps look wrong.

are those paddle stick thing a factory option on a certain year?

Not sure on the paddle shifters. I thought it was an option from the factory then I heard it was an aftermarket kit. I'm SURE someone on here knows.

Turbo2go. Great info. Exactly what I was looking for. The auto isn't a deal killer for me especially with the shifters. Hell, half the time ill be on city streets in places where I can't play that hard anyway. My thinking is that if I end up not really digging the auto, I'll sell the car and get a 6 spd. I gotta say though I spend hours on Prime and I'm thinking I'm gonna be one of 'those' guys that has NSX(s).

Unless that is some factory option, the wheel caps are not 2001 standard, mine don't look like that at least. Fairly certain the paddle is a factory option, there are a few posts on prime about them.

With auto, you also get the 3.0 engine rather than the 3.2 and 252hp, so I suspect it is one of the slower NSXs available. (http://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/NA1) so keep that in mind in your decision.

Hope it goes well!

seems for the same money you can get an older 6 speed. As blue said, it is also a weaker engine. Paddle shift or not, its an auto. It's a manumatic with a torque converter. It's not a clutchless manual.

I researched this NSX too. For what it is worth, I found 4 different dated entries in the AutoCheck report for this VIN of 'frame damage'. See below. Check it out.

Thanks guys. Frame damage was likely the hyper extended door issue but ill check further. Lots of guys not real favorable towards automatics. Makes me think... I am actually going to use the car. May just be to the store and back or 10 miles here and there, but it will get out. I can get a similar mileage or less 8-10 year older car for the same price. Seems a little whacky. I guess the sticks are just so much more sought after. Hmmm more to consider. I think I'm gonna go by Shawn1075's shop and chat with him this weekend. Lucky that I live in Tampa! All great advice and info guys. Appreciate it.

FWIW the guys that own autos seem to like them a lot. Some of us are particular, there is just no way I cold do it as I already drive autos all day in my DD's, but it's probably not a bad car at all.

Also keep in mind that someday when you do sell it you may have a difficult time finding a buyer for an automatic without having to discount it.
