dad has a LS430, mom has a SC430. one aunt has a current model GS300, and other aunt has previous GS430. one cousin has a GS300. one friend traded his subey for a GS400. another friend used to have a GS400.

i've driven all of those from time to time, and theyre one of the most comfortable cars to drive. very fast and smooth. makes an excellent daily driver and great for long trips. everyone loves them. they make awesome u-turns

there is monolithic performance difference between the 300 and the 430.
get the 430. :)

Calvin,

I had 99 GS400 also with 300hp, same styling, 5spd automatic with button shifter on steering wheel that does not work too well. I believe they deleted the button shifter on the GS430.

The car was very fast, at least for me back then. It is a big car, but when you drive it, it actually doesn't felt like a big car at all. Tons of little items, indash 6 disc CD changer, nice sounding factory stereo, awesome HID with tilt function, nice torque from the V8, stability control and traction control.

As much as I love my GS300 for a Daily Driver...I really wish I had more power..thinking about upping it to an LS430 or GS430 Previous Model as well.

Always love the GS..
There is tons of aftermarket stuff for it too. Go to www.clublexus.com to read all about it in the GS section. Clublexus is by far the biggest GS forum on the net.. It covers other lexus model but majority of post lands on GS section.

If I get one I know I will spend a ton of cash on it.

dont mean to hijack the thread...but i like this car too...but consider a 5 series? may have to get a few years older due to $ difference..but that would be my route...

My dad's had an ES, got the LS now, I've had two ES's, had the IS, and now i've got a GS. Needless to say we love these cars.

More specifically the GS.....Amazing car, looks great, has a tremendously powerful but smooth engine, comfortable, and handles like a smaller car. The Nakamichi system is the best I've heard besides of course the Levinson which comes in the LS. Very tasteful and an outstanding value. I'd snag that car up in a hearbeat.

You can modify them as well. They have great exhaust systems, ecu upgrades and there are tons of suspension upgrades available. Not to mention that the wheel wells will fit 22's! Not my taste, but you get my drift.
Good luck man, if you do your research and pull the trigger you won't be disappointed.

Thanks guys....I drove Andy's the other day and it's much too soft of a ride. If I get it, I would have to lower it w/ a set of 20" and change the suspension? My other option is to get the 5 Series. Either way, I need to replace my daily this June. I promised I will give my current daily to my little bro if he keeps up the grades. ....He did!!!! SUCKER!!! I know you are reading this...................now get back to your homeworks. :D
