Is anyone using the Level Ten automatic transmission ? This company is located in New Jersey.
I contacted these guys and they told me their transmissions will support the power of NOS, turbos and/or a supercharger. Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks and please reply ... NSX Image

keep in mind that level10 can only support sub 400hp outputs. the supra tt's guys filed a big law suit against them (and won i think). because all the automatic supras can put down 400+hp easily and the tranny's never held up with level10 build up. last i heard, they were bankrupt. and selling parts for cheap.

btw, does the nsx ss (sport shift) have the flaw that most honda ss's have? (mainly in 5th generation preludes.) i'm asking because my ss failed. and i was wondering if the nsx had the same problem.

You should talk to Shane at Autowave about this. 714-841-2433

I had the same discussion after talking with Level 10.

Thanks guys for the input. I was told year or so ago that an NSX automatic transmission would not hold up to more power than aftermarket headers and exhaust would add. I e-mailed Level Ten concerning a supercharger for the NSX-T w/ Sportshift that I was interested in a month or so ago. They raved about their product and now I hear this which doesn't hold true. I greatly appreciate the information. I do not want to be ripped off by someone with a bogus product.

Has anyone out there in NSX Land done any mods such as the headers, intake and exhaust to an NSX-T w/ Sportshift ? I know the auto tranny cars have 252 hp vs. 270 in the manual cars. Would these mods bring the hp up to the factory specs of the manual tranny?

Thx again ... NSX Image

I have an 94 auto tranny but not a SS. I've done Comptech headers, a Cantrell air duct into the stock box with a Comptech drop in filter, and less restrictive Grouppe M exhaust. I definitely have more HP but I didn't do a baseline before the mods. The only real messurement of HP is at the rear wheels in a dyno test. Right now I'm at 215. I autox the car all the time and really hammer it in 1st and 2nd manual shifts. I hit the rev limiter on a regular basis. The trans is holding up just fine.

There are autos out there running SC's and turbos. While they're not reccomended, the tranny will survive unless you're 1/4 miling the car or otherwise pushing to the limit a lot. Talk to Comptech.

270hp if you are talking about the NA1 NSXs. I think the I/H/E would probably get you to around 270hp if not more, however, it still won't put as much power to the ground as a manual NSX with the same engine output. The auto tranny by itself sucks up alot of power.

Tank: I am not a racer but like to drive a fast car. Most of our driving activity is on the highway and occasionally a twisty road when available. So an automatic transmission car should be fine for my wife and I. She could care less about a supercharger (I like them). She likes the sound of a powerful motor that headers and exhaust provide. Thanks for the input.

Cantrell air induction

Lucky you!

I would really add that Cantrell air scoop, then, as well as I/H/E. It alone gave my engine a deeper, throatier sound that mixed well with the headers and exhaust plus a little more power to boot. http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/exhaust_airflow_products/NSX/Cantrell_Concepts/AIS/

It's worth it.
Thanks again. The Cantrell airflow unit looks agressive enough. I think the headers, intake, exhaust and airflow dealie would be enough ... but then there is the need for <more> get up and go and the Baschboost is still lingering in my mind.

Be cool ... NSX Image
