Please be very cautious when dealing with this company. I had my car converted to an 02 and painted by them. tHE CONVERSION HANDS DOWN CAME OUT GREAT.The paint work is not great, all the jams and detail work did not come out good. They even had the nerve to paint over the 3m paint protection behind the wheel wells, also they forgot supposedly to paint all bolts that hold my rear fenders, an agreement was signed by me and a employee not going to use any names that these corrections would be made. Three bolts on each side have not been painted, there are drip marks on the rear bumper, left side vent, and left side of car near the vent. Didn't want to have to do this but I treid to resolve this problem by contacting them and have no luck trying to resolve this. I have spent over $50,000 with them and this type of work is uncalled for and should have never left Legendary. Legal action will be taken and anybody is welcome to see my car, to have proof. Please be careful and use your judgement on having quality work done. Also, Canadian better buisness bureau will be contacted. Frank
 
Beleive what you want, but I definately don't need to buy parts that way. Im not saying im money bags but only the best parts are used on my car, as many of the prime members have seen at some meets.

Legendary charged me for doing services so I should have no complaints. When you promote yourself on tv as being the best that's what a customer would expect and $50, 000 later should expect. There name is on my car so ho can I promote a shop if the qaulity is not to my standards. Frank

What's the name of ths shop in NJ that does all the great body work on our cars? I know he's done a few 02 conversions that their clients have been very happy with.
 
wow those two attachments are nuts. man, seriously, what goes around comes around. so if you did do that stuff then you deserve it, but if you didnt then you should of done more research on the shop to guarantee the work that was provided. sorry to hear that ppl get ripped off all of the time, especially if there are ppl on here. but when ppl rip ppl off and then get ripped off then they deserve it.

That's him. I've seen 2 of his conversions. They were fantastic. He actually did a workshop at NSXPO 04 about the conversions and what it takes. It's amazing the indepth knowledge of the car that's required to do it right.
 
I'm involved with LMC since they lease us (the Canadian Motorsport Heritage Group) space, and I know Peter.

I have seen TONNES of cars Peter/LMC worked on, none fit the description of what you've described. Not only that, but $50,000? it seems a bit high, no?

I would guess that Peter doesn't stiff anyone, he has an impeccable reputation as well as tons of repeat customers - There must be a bit more to the story than this, I'll ask him when I have some time.
 
Red, the amount i posted included some parts as well. Like I stated above there fabrication work was good, just the paint job is unacceptable. The car wenty back twice because the bumpers and side skirts didn't match the car. I don't understand how they don't match if my whole car was painted. I placed a phone call to an employee yesterday morning at 9:30 am, and told him i was dissapointed with the out come, he said everything he did i was not pleasable, which is exactly correct. I don't think having discolred bumpers, overspray, not having all the rear fender screws, clearing over 3m behind the wheel wells. is unacceptable, but thats just me. This list goes on. Red please pm me so I can tell you all of my co cerns.sed evry time I had an issue I would try to contact him, but never got a response. You would think the owner of the company that had a dissapointed customer would try to resolve such an issue, but I quess greed runs people. Frank

that was quite a low blow last comment u made there..... i do not think that greed has anything to do with it...
I Cant see that LMC wouldnt acknowledge your concerns because of their reputation... there has to be more to the story then what u are telling us
 
Not trying to take low shots, but as an owner he said have gave me a phone call when I tried to explain my un-happiness with the work provided. The car should have been looked over very carefully before being shipped back to me. Or if they knew I was a very picky customer not except me as a customer if they couldn't meet my expectations. And for the amount of money I spent I should be as picky as i want, i AM THE CUSTOMER. Frank
 
I am surprised given they charge $100 per hour for restoration work plus parts and that they have such a solid reputation internationally.

Why won't they fix it? I mean redoing some paint isn't a big deal for a shop like that. In fact I'm surprised they showed it to you like that at all.

The fenders and body pannels bolt on our cars right? They could have them removed to paint them and make them perfect without overspray etc.

Am I wrong?
 
Quess there was something to hide, because I stated I was goning to fly to Canada, since at the time I was in school in Atlanta, that was the plan. Then I received a phone call stating that Peter wanted the car out of there, so I received it sight unseen If they won't correct some of the issues I feel I deserve some type of refund, Im not stating all, because I know they have time in the project. But they had two chances to correct the problem, I can't see why there should have ever been a problem in the first place. Carelessness was taken to detail, why do a good paint job and the lack on detail or clear over 3m paint protection, know I think the whole car would have to be redone minus the roof, mirrors, and spoiler due to the black color. I spoke to Peter Klute, owner of Legendary about the whole story and, without going over every detail, I have to say that even 10% of Peter's story is enough to convince me that Frank is an ass and the links posted here reflect his true nature.

Peter went beyond bending over backwards for over TWO YEARS, redoing work for free, putting on parts like the Brembos and then taking them off as Frank sold them (He accused Peter of damaging/losing things in shipping - sounds like Frank has a "shipping disease" I ship tons of stuff and NEVER have problems, everything he ships don't go right) and all the while NOT PAYING.

Peter is a classy guy and asked me to say less about this so I'm stopping here with one last point, this guy was always trying to find something to blame so he could avoid paying his bill - kinda like a guy who brings his own fly to a restaurant so he can drop it in the soup and get a free meal.

Peter's reputation and his company's abilities are truly Legendary, and he stands behind his work like nobody else I know, Frank is a little boy who started asking Peter to remove parts he already paid to install so that Frank could sell them to try to pay the bills, and Frank's momma ended up calling LMC and paying the bill so he could get his car home - the end!

(Sorry Frank, I know we've spoken on the phone, and I don't want you calling me to tell me your side, I've only written a little bit of the story, I aknowledge. Honestly, you're not gonna talk me out of this one, Peter showed me the paint cards when he repainted your car so the colour match was perfect through the 3M Clear Bra, which I know distorts pearlescesnt paints a bit. Lets NEVER talk again, ok?.)
 
Red, Im glad one of us made contact with Peter. If he put parts on for me for free, I need some money back then. I have all the receipts to prove I paid for everything and boy did I pay.

As far as the brakes I didn't mention this on prime to ruin there reputation, but here it is. I sold my STOPTECHS on prime not Brembos, Which they installed brand new and took off , that they shipped. I was in ATlanta. I was charged $500 to make a box that was going to get the brakes to florida in perfect condition as they only had about 300 miles on them. The buyer and I split shipping, that was the deal. About a week and a half go buy the buyer contacts me and state there was a serious problem. I said what was it. He siad the brakes are scratched and on of the calipers has a gouge in it. I call Legendary right away and told the unamed employee this. he wanted pics, so the buyer on prime sent me pics and I forwarded it to Legendary. He said his so called bullet proof box was built to handle this type of weight and contents in the box. So when I called Legendary i spoke to the person i have dealt with and the reply he gave me was evrytime we do something for you we have problem, like it's my fault there lack of correct packaging is my fault, also this person stated to me and the buyer of the perfect stoptechs which were not so perfect on arrival to florida that legendary was not a shipping company. If they didn't want to ship them out for me he could have told me. It wound up casting me money. I sent money to the buyer for a new rear caliper. Then the un-named employee tells me to tell the purchaser to tell fed ex that the box was altered. I had the employee say this again but this time it was recorded. I did'nt want to do this to the employee but fedex will be getting a call and a copy of this recording also this will be brought to court as well, and if my lawyer allows me I will try somehow to put it on prime so the so called repitable Legendary motorcar, people will hear the truth.

Also, if I was so pleased with the outcome how come my brothers widebody S2000 is going to vinces autobody all the way from Canada and then back to Canada for a tune.Also, two very reputable shops checked my car over and couldn't believe what they saw, on was Detailing dynamics in NY, and the other is C&D autobody in NJ. As I stated I would pay for your flight to come and inspect the car yoursel, but obviously you are persuaded by Peter which is fine, EVERYONE AT NSX STOCK WILL SEE THE SO CALLED QUALITY PAINT JOB. I have nothing to hide. Trust me there are to sides to every story.
 
Also, who ever bought my Stoptechs please chime in so we can tell prime what we went through and also the overcharging on your credit card from Legendary that you had to argue to get back. I will check through my pm's to see who bought them. I will also try to find the pics the way that the buyer recieved these brakes. Frank
 
Going to have my doors, and trunk realigned tommorow by a very well know shop to the nsx community, since Legendary had trouble doing such a simple task. If you guys want to piss money away and have to have to spend money twice I would recommend this shop.:mad: Frank
