A few weeks ago OzzieJohn and I went for a cruise around Dandenong ranges in his "Green Tea" NSX. John was even kind enough to hand the keys to me for a drive... which was sooooooo much fun. At the end of the day my face literally hurt from so much smiling!
Here's some highlights:
* Trading waves with a passing Honda cruise of civic's and integra's. They were acknowledging their "DADDY".
* Waving to the driver of a Ferrari Testarossa coming from the opposite direction -- and he waved back! LOL!!!
* Enjoying John's spirited driving on tight corners signed "40km", and he took them at xx km's (only NSX owners will know exactly that speed 'xx' is )
* Pulling into a parking lot and meeting a father & son who owned a blue Skyline (pictured below). It's so refreshing meeting complete strangers and be able to talk cars without machoism or 'pen1s envy' -- just men enjoying great cars for what they are.
But the biggest highlight of course was just driving around with someone like John who also loves the NSX - enjoying a journey with no real destination, talking about the NSX & other cars in general, and enjoying life at that very moment. The drive was a reminder to me that we're all sooooo busy running around with work etc that it's easy to forget simple pleasures like driving a stunning car without a care in the world...... well, except for cops and speed cameras.
Of course, every drive thread is meaningless without pix, so here's four of the best for you guys to enjoy.
Thanks again John for a great day! And sorry this is late!
