A group of Vancouver NSXers are organizing a drive for Sunday, July 23rd. The itinerary is a bit of a work in progress, but here is what I am suggesting:

  • Hook up somewhere near the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal - there is a large truck pull out between Caulfeild and Altamont on the Upper Levels Hwy #1 east of Horseshoe Bay that will accomodate a lot of cars. We could meet anytime from 7 am to 9 am as far as I am concerned.
  • breakfast at the famous gastronomic disaster (aka greasy spoon) '99er Cafe' in beautiful Britannia Beach or, if we want to be a little more civilized, we could motor on to Squamish and have something there

  • drive through Whistler, Pemberton and on the famous Duffy Lake Road through to Lillooet
  • lunch in Lillooeet

  • return via the famous, and now well known (to us), Duffy Lake Road, through Pemberton, Whistler & Squamish. This would get us back into Vancouver by mid-afternoon. Alternatively, and I have not checked the distance but it will be a bit, we could return via the Fraser Canyon and back into Vancouver from the eastern townships. This would get us into Vancouver later in the afternoon.
So far there appears to be about six of us committed.

Alas, I have a reunion of Edmonton U of A grads at my place on Vancouver Island, so will be unable to participate.

As a former resident of Lillooet, I could have given the deluxe tour of this burgeoning metropolis.

Perhaps the next one??

On another note I am 75 % commited to the corner to corner run to Sebring for NSXPO.
If any locals also want to use up a set of rear tires in only two weeks consider coming along

Jim

I aslo cannot make it this weekend, but if someone plans another event like this, hopefully late August or early September, I'd love to come over for it!
