When I go over a bump in the road I hear a clicking sound like metal hittng metal from the front end of the car. Could this be a loose article, or a sway bar link gone bad?

Without knowing the year and mileage on your car my guess is that it's time to replace your front shock.

Check around under the hood. It could be as simple as a loose spare tire wing nut, or a loose bolt on the vertical support for the spare tire, or missing one of the rubber bumpers that the spare tire mounts to. (I've had all of these occur and create noises.)
