I attended the local BMW club monthly meeting last night here in Toronto.
As a guest speaker they had the Scott Maxwell (he drove the Lamborghini Murcielago in the GTS class at the ALMS this year - I have attached his picture).
He had awful things to say about the Lambo! First and foremost, it broke down so much that they pulled it from the races near the end of the season. At Mosport, both Lambos broke the rear wish-bones at turn No. 1. When the replacement ones broke again (at the same corner) they packed it in for the weekend - it was becoming a driver safety issue.
Scott never did like the team he said, but he didn't have many options for this season. His main concern was the safety issues of the car. At the beginning of the year he asked the team how they expected him to get out of the car in the event of a roll-over (In order to open, the doors on the GTS Lambo slide up just like the street version). The team had no answer for him!
Anyway, he had great stories and kept us entertained for over an hour.
