I will be heading to the ALMS race on Saturday... what are the best places to watch the race? Will I be able to move around freely? Any other protips? Thanks in advance.

Top of the press tower is the best place but you have to have a press pass to get up there.

2nd best is the front straight. You can see most of the track from there. I also like to walk up to the corkscrew to watch for a while. Get a pit pass if you can as well. Always cool to walk around the pits.

Thanks for the feedback, is a pit pass something that can be purchased or do I need connections (that I don't have). :)

For me, the best places are turn 5 above the infield "lake", the Corkscrew (of course) and the top of the hill at turn 1. From the hill on turn one you can see practically the whole lower track from turn 9 after the corkscrew to turn 5 before they head up the hill.

And yes, you can roam all around the track. No matter where you decide to spend most of your time, the Corkscrew view is an absolute MUST!

Too right. Do you view mostly from the infield, outfield, or a combination of both depending on the turn?

Some events will sell pit passes which will allow you to roam the pits. If they aren't selling them then yeah you need connections.

What a fantastic place to watch a race. All over the track there are awesome spectator spots. A must do venue for any racing fan and hopefully one day I can get out on that track myself.

Oh I wish it were that easy. Check my location. :)

I have run with Trackmasters on the East Coast and find them to be superb. I don't know if this is the same organization through. I'd sign up for both tracks in a heartbeat if I wasn't 2,500+ miles away.
