LA Rush Hour?

I'm driving down Tuesday to Orange County and wanted to know what's the best time to head down. Don't want to hit rush hour, and I will be carpooling. I'm leaving from Monterey which is about 5 hours. Besides leaving in the middle of the night or 5am, what other times are good to take off?

If it takes 5-6 hours, then you should be in the LA area around 9-10am if you leave at 5am....OC is about another hour a way. That is actually not a bad time to leave Monterey... Have a safe drive...

Or you can just drive at night and arrive in OC in the AM......

I suggest using Google Maps and using the Traffic function built in. Google maps allows you to toggle between "Live" traffic (default) and traffic for whatever day of the week and time you want.

The best times to drive through LA to OC would be:
1) ~10am to ~2pm
2) ~8pm though the night to ~6am.

I don't think Sigalert allows you too see traffic for different days and times other than "Live".. so if that's the case, it is NOT better. :smile:
