The Kyosho 1/18th scale autos, for those not aware, are truly wonderful pieces. Paint, detail and quality are all exceptional. I have three of them. These units sell for between a low of $49 to a high of $69. Exoticar is apparently having a sale and letting them go for $29! This is quite a buy and they have black, a color I have not seen in this scale (also available is Red, Pearl Metallic White) go to their web site www.exoticar.com or call them at 1800-exoticar and ask for item number 8082. Go order one, you know you deserve it!

I dont see the NSX on sale. Item 8082 is the NSX for 50 bucks.

To responed to NetVipers note above, I got that price from the catalogue. Try ordering using their phone number and tell them you got that price from the current catalogue, which is what I did.

Exoticar says it was a misprint. Normal price still applies, which, for those of you who have shopped around know, is a pretty good price.

Hey, I feel awful. Because I order often from them, I have a customer number and possibly that price is for a specific customer group. I do know that when I ordered a black one, the price was $29. When I recieve it next week, I'll let you all know what I was charged. The $50 is still good, but the $29 price is clearly listed. I'm sorry for getting this all started though.

Don't worry about it.. It's a shame that it isnt on sale for 29. I see a bunch of ferrari and lamborghini on sale for 29. Why not the NSX??

I got the same catalog in the mail also and I can vouch for you that it was indeed $29 for the NSX. I'm interested to see if that is the real price, I may pick one up to join my Ferrari 360, 512TR and F355B models I have in my den.

What sort of quality is this model? All metal, plastic, rubber tires?

Impossible to get here............

I'm lucky enough to have 4 models..........white, red, black and the elusive yellow. The yellow one has additional side markers on the front and on the box it says "licensed by Acura". Does anyone know if this is a special collector piece ? Also, the white and yellow ones have the oval exhaust tips and the red and black ones have the round tips.

The yellow one was, supposedly, exclusive to Exoticar.

My wife called Exoticar yesterday (after I gave her a small hint) and they said that the catalog price for the NSX is a misprint, it really should be $50.

I've been trying to dig up the white 1:18 Kyosho. Exoticar says they are "backordered".
There are none on Ebay. Anyone else have a decent source (or an extra?)

That price has been misprinted in two catalogs in a row. I called when the first catalog came out listing the model for sale at 29.95. They would not sell them to me and said the price was a misprint. I asked them to write my name and number down in case they decided to sell them at 29.95. I then called after the second catalog came out listing them at 29.95. I gave them my name the date and time of the first call. I then was able to order as many as I wanted at 29.95. Now you know why they are on back order. I bought all they would sell me.

I have the 1/18 scale version made by Ertle back in 1994. At the time it was the only one that said Acura not Honda. I also think the Ertle version is the only version that has the origional blacked out top like the 91-94 models. If you have a 91-94 model get the Ertle version. You may be able to find it on Ebay.

I also have the RARE 1/12 Acura NSX kit made by Rosso of Italy. The kit is suppose to be rare because the Rosso factory burned down so the origional molds were destroyed. The kit cost me about $285.00 back in 98'. It is suppose to be the most detailed NSX kit ever made. I've been saving it for the day I get a real NSX so that I can make sure I make it like the car in my driveway.

Thanks for the info, it is indeed a '94. I have had absolutely zero luck with the Ertle model search either (even in completed items in Ebay to see what it looks like). If you have a photo, could you PM it or post it? I want to see if it's worth holding out for or if I should just resign myself to the fact that the Kyosho is as close as I may get to it.

On a related note, has anyone ever try to paint the top black on the Kyosho and how did it turn out? Aside from the top it looks just like mine.
