I finally experienced the infamous A/C fan problem that occurs in most NSX. First, the fan would only blow at max speed. Last week, the fan stopped blowing completely. I also noticed that even when the A/C is off, I can still feel the cold air coming out of the vents! This morning, I was driving at approx. 80mph with the window down, I noticed that the cold air was being blown out of the vents and it was really cold, cold enough to condense on the vents! I guess now the A/C is really leaking. Does anyone know if this leaking is serious enough to require immediate repair?
I would appreciate it very much if anyone know of a local shop that can repair the A/C fan problem. I read the various threads regarding the problem, and that the unit can be removed and sent in for repair. But I'm terrible at mechanical stuff and would prefer taking it to a shop and let them remove the unit.
If anyone knows of a shop in SoCal (I'm in El Monte), please let me know. I know I can take it to an Acura dealer or a Honda shop, but I prefer to take it to a shop that knows about the problem, not a place that will guess what the problem is.
Thanks in advance for all help. I have a 95 NSX-T automatic.
