Knocked off Rear View Mirror

I knocked off the mirror jumping in the passenger seat trying to get my car parked in the garage...ARRRGGGHHH....

There is a metal circle shaped piece, a spring, the mirror, and the outer plastic covering.

I'm feeling a bit mechanically challenged today and I can't seem to figure out how to get the mirror back on....Any advice?

I believe on the mirror arm itself there's a "tab" that will slide in to lock the mirror back onto the metal base. You slide the "tab" through the open end of the base and through the spring.

I put the spring holder and the spring on the mount, but I am having a very difficult time getting the mirror back on. It seems that no matter what I try I can't seem to get that tab to hook onto the spring.

I've got to be doing something wrong, it shouldn't be this difficult.
