Keyless entry

I bought the kit for my 92. I have the glove box out of the car and I have installed the keyless kit as per the included instructions. The thing does not work at all. Any ideas while I still have the car apart would be appreciated.

Make sure everything is shut tight, including the glass rear hatch.

That is exactly what is was. All the doors must be closed for it to operate. The Dali window fix it thingy also gave me a hard time. I grooved out a pair of pliers instead of channel locks. The angle of the jaws really makes a difference. I guess it just was not my day. I did notice that the part that the thingy went into had a small crack. Also the plastic guides that ride in the track were all broken or cracked as well. Has anyone else inspected theirs and found the same problem?
