I have a 1992 NSX, when I bought it I didnt get the car alarm remote. My question is. Do all NSXs come with factory installed alarm? If thats the case then all I need to get is the remote.
thanks

Armando,

I believe all NSX's come with the factory alarm. The keyless entry is an additional feature.

I believe you can also purchase the keyless entry for about $200 or so, for a 1992 model, from any of the discount dealers. The newer cars have a different system that is quite pricey (at least double the early model).

I have read it is quite a simple installation, but have not done it myself. I think it is in the FAQ here.

I have a 93 and it did not come with it. I opted for a Viper alarm instead. It offers a lot more than the factory keyless for just a little more money. Well worth it, IMO.

Thanks for the response but I agree with NetViper as far as cost, I priced out alarms and got one for about 300 with alot more options.

I bought the Acura keyless entry system from my local dealer and paid $150. I know the parts manager though. I installed it myself with the very simple and easy to understand instructions that came with it. I considered going aftermarket with it but decided to stay all genuine Honda. Can't really go wrong either way though.

Recently installed the viper alarm to my 94 NSX. Stupid thing was that the technician who installed it forgot to check my battery. It went flat the next day and I have to buy a new one. Anyway, how do you get the voice module for the viper alarm. Mine is a 300 esp model. The chop said that I hve to waited for the speaker to come by. My question is does the voice come from the speaker or from the 805dt?

Seems like most of you prefer the Viper alarms. I'm considering installing one due to the functing of auto lock and unlock.

Also, for those with aftermarket alarms, does it engage the factory alarm in addition to your secondary alarm?

TIA,
Steve

Hehe,

Viper Armed!! Viper Disarm!!!

Switching on the car automatically locks the door. You can tune the sensitivity of the alarm. Good thing is that anybody who thinks that they can sit on my car got their face red. Impress lots of people.
