has any purchased and/or installed the little round plastic protector that surrounds the lock cylinder? tricky to get back in and the dealer thinks the entire key cylinder has to be ordered to get them. i don't believe that!

have you ever installed one of those little things larry?
they don't like to cooperate very much. i wonder if there is a trick? twist? i just can't seem to get it flush to the body.
easy as heck to remove!

I just noticed the other day that my driver's side one isn't laying flat... about 1/4 of it looks like it is coming out. What caused you to ask the question in the first place? I never use the key so it's not because of use. I was assuming I could just push it back in with the tip of a small screwdriver... sounds like it's not that easy

No I have never removed or installed one. It looks straightforward, as all jobs do, until you get there!!!
