all i can say is, if Bush wants to go to war with them, he's in for some shit.

Nice documentary link! Thanks...

However, I don't comprehend your comment in regards to Bush/War/shit. Don't generalize. Breaking bamboo sticks over trapezius muscles has nothing to do w/ nuclear proliferation, saber-rattling w/ neighboring countries by the use of Intra-continental ballistic missiles, aggression and buildup in/around DMZ's, and ongoing developments of WMD's. :frown:

Now w/ that said, I'd find it deck (dope, cool, smooth, righteous) to chill w/ Kim for an afternoon... (fun guy... I wonder if he likes NSX's!?! *LOL*)

I heard he has a factory one off 1991 yellow. Had it shipped in from America after they closed the ebay auction early.

no. Kim Jong Il is Mercedez-Benz's #1 buyer.

he has over 500 stock mercedez-benz he has collected.

allegedly he only drives benz.
he also has a private race circuit, which he occasionally likes to race.

he loves racing cars.

i envy him. i mean you got an army, u got ppl ready to fight like in the video, you got all the girls, you are a king, a god to the ppl.

The people's training and their devotion to their leader is very reminiscent of the people of japan to their emperor in the 1930s.....we see where they are in relation to the US today.

I was joking, making reference to the early year yellow nsx that always shows up on ebay, insinuating that he thought he was buying a factory one off. Man, sarcasm doesn't show up well on the internet.

The world and the Korean people would be better off if Kim were to be terminated and a democratic government installed.

I just got out of the service. I did gunship and security for the transportions units, a gunner on a 50 cal. We did all the Main MSR routes around baghdad.
I recieved the purple heart last year in Operation Iraqi Freedom from the Vice President of USA. If I had even a small chance to be anywhere near Kim I would stab him between his eyes as soon as he says hello. I hate that guy I wish we had more control over them I think they will be the reason for World War 3 aka end of th world

Not the end of the world, but North Korea or one of the Arab states doing something stupid and the US, China, and England removing them from the planet. Say what you want about China, but they don't want anyone blowing up their cash cow. The US military is not what it used to be, it's 10X better. The days of the 60's and 70's military bashing are gone. This country is finally standing behind it's military even if we disagree with the administration. Next time you're at a bar or party say something bad about the military or it's people. You may leave with a black eye. This is no time to mess with the US. I am not in nor have ever been in the military, but if needed I would do whatever it takes in order to help out our guys and gals over seas. The Rhode Island Army Reseve could take out N. Korea in about 48 hours.

… them I think they will be the reason for World War 3 ...

Most of the posts in this thread sound an awful lot like what was being said by people in 1936 Germany or 1936 Japan.
They were very confident, thought they were vastly superior, thought their ideology was superior, could kick ass militarily, gave people black eyes if they said something against them at a party etc.
They knew they were right and their system was right, and nobody could explain to them otherwise.
Remember?

But back then they had an excuse.
No TV, internet or contact with or real knowledge of the outside world.
You don’t have that excuse today, so please cool it with the testosterone and the trigger happy attitude.

While I think Kim is misusing his people and they would be better off with a system like S.Korea, I think bombing innocent farmers isn’t exactly cool. Do you? Kim is going to be in a bunker, only the regular people there are going to get hurt.

Isn’t there another way, a more intelligent way?

Who knows?
I guess maybe try to get China to stop handing escapees back. Buy them from China. Offer more money than they get now. In fact, offer the Chinese people that live on the border money to sell them to us instead of the N. Koreans. Cheaper for us than missiles.

The N. Koreans pay the local Chinese to return escapees at the moment. It's quite a garden industry. All the local Chinese, local officials included, want to get some of it. Poor bastards that escape don't have a chance...

In this one area the N. Koreans are playing OUR game with OUR rules on OUR playing field.
Capitalism, money, business. Buy and sell (Catch and sell actually).
It’s their weak point. And they can’t win at our game.

Also offer the Chinese on the border more money than they would get before, they won’t refuse. Corruption is still big there. It’s a damn poor region. Beijing has some control, but money will win out, it always does, especially in controlled places like China and N. Korea.

Soon the word will get out (or in, as it were) that escaping is profitable business for both sides, N. Koreans and Chinese.

At some point, sooner that we think, I believe, N. Korea will implode. Their border soldiers will cross over for money. Local towns will cross over for money. The government officials that go to control the problem will cross over for money.

After it reaches that special critical point, it will implode in days.

Kim is making the classic mistake of arming for a type of war that happened yesterday. But the next war won’t be like the last. It never is.
So don’t be forced to play on their terms (war). Make him play on our terms.
Right now Bush and Co. are thinking that military might will win like it did last time. But it doesn’t work anymore. Not like it used to.

Calculate the population in the north and multiply by a certain dollar amount. I’ll bet it would be cheaper than missiles and rebuilding part of South Korea and Japan.
Also allow for corruption and funding rip off, there will always be some. In fact make sure there is some. Then the greedy sharks will circle quicker, both here and there.

If it doesn’t implode after a few years, then after we have a pretty sizable amount of these refugees, we will learn lots of useful titbits of information about where the cracks are in N. Korea.
Then we can try in another way that has a chance of working.

But will we budget money for this? No. Nothing in it for us. No oil for example. And I doubt N. Korea will be stupid enough to threaten us, to force us to take action.

They want the bomb for protection from the current world aggressors (the US), that’s clear. Like Iran. Deterrent is where it is these days.

They would probably not be able to control such a powerful weapon anyway, someone there would use it on their internal enemies first. Do you really thing Kim could resist testing it out on one of his villages just to see the mushroom cloud? I doubt it. He would quickly lose control of it. It’s just too much of a quantum shift of power (excuse the pun).
Such a powerful weapon would upset the whole of the structure in N. Korea.

Hell, it might be a good idea to offer a few to them (without delivery systems). Then just sit back and see the whole structure crack up. Can you imagine the pandemonium during delivery? Especially if there were an undermined amount of them. He would never know who of his cronies has stolen what. Let greed tear them apart.
Who knows. But we gotta think laterally about this. Not conventionally.
