Prem: $2.78

And the average price in the US is $2.02?
Does that mean that somewhere out there people are paying $1.60?

There are advantages of living in the Midwest - Tulsa, OK where I live is typically the cheapest spot in the US for gas. $1.89 reg unleaded now and that's a new peak for us. Typically we are often 20-30% cheaper than the coasts. ChopsJazz, I know from my prior work in the energy industry that Cali has different formulations that drive the price up significantly for you. If you feel bad, look at the cost in Europe now and you'll feel much better.

This article indicates that crude oil production will increase *if* the market demands it. Translation - prices will probably stay where they are - or continue to increase as the trend has been. The increase in production will only go to meet the higher summertime demand. There is a chance that prices will come down with the increased production, but its a slim chance. Prices won't start to come down until after the summer - when election time comes near.
