For fun I was checking out some prices on amayama.com & came across the the Fuel Pump 17040-SL0-A30.

Online dealers in the US have it discounted to 407$ but Amayama gives this:

Non-original replacement Price: from 48.28 USD
HKT GIP602 PUMP, FUEL 48.28

Does anybody know anything anything about this part or brand? I'm just curious, why would the Fuel Pump be discontinued in Japan & then Honda would choose this as a replacement.

Just because amayama lists this as a fit does not mean Honda has endorsed this brand/part as a replacement.

I'm not a big fan of Walbro's, but I would chose a Walbro as a replacement before buying this part. The pump is cheap when you factor in the labor to remove/replace the tank.

My $0.02.

Also, just because a US dealer shows it (17040-SL0-A30) online doesn't mean it is available. I've come across parts that dealers show as available, but haven't had in years. Chances are if Amayama doesn't have the OEM part then it is most likely NLA worldwide.

Honda has NOT chosen that pump.

Amayama has listed it as alternative part and it is Made in Japan (so my guess: OEM).

It appears that Amayama is listing OEM parts as well as Factory parts...which are in effect the same part, but different packaging and authorization levels.

PelicanParts.com and RockAuto.com list all different levels of parts as well, from OEM to same or lesser knockoffs. (RockAuto you have to pay attention as they will list evertying from high quality to unacceptable. And the prices may not match the quality. )

Everything I have received from Amayama is first class! Gawd, I wish I knew about them 20 years ago.... I need an equivilent for Euro/BMW if anybody knows of anything (other than Pelican).

I use amayama.com for mostly all my part Japanese part needs. Type r and type s included. You just need the part number. I’m surprised nobody has put together an excel sheet to share that way it’s easy access for us to order.

Jp-parts is also good but have never ordered from them. I usually use that website to find part numbers.

I swapped my pump years ago so my memory is a little vague, but I'm 99% sure the OEM pump is a Denso.

I replaced it with a Denso pump for a Supra TT, and it looked almost identical (similar stampings and endplates) to the Supra pump (just smaller).
