It took a while tonight to get off the front "A" badge from the bumper. It was stuck on pretty good. I had to use lots of tape, towels and a putty knife and a lot of prying to get it off. Fishing line/Floss does not work in all situations.

I replaced it with a Red NA1 JDM "H" badge. The Red on the badge matches the red on the car. It looks awesome! Much better now without the "A" badge.

Tail center light cover is next. Any suggestions on how to get off the "Acura" vinyl lettering off of it?
Some say put it in the oven, blow torch, submerse in very hot water to get the glue off?

I tried the boiling water thing but didn't work that great. I ended up using my heat gun and heating the glue up as I worked around the light. Was pretty easy that way for me.

Or there's someone here that will do it for you if want. Have to search thru the vendor forum for it.

i have a formula red na1 and have done the same. i used a chrome H for the center lense, it's the same shape as the front. i used the boiling method left it boiling for about 15-20 minutes

Let me know if you want to swap your A badges for my H badges , no one in australia know what Acura is , It would be fun to keep them guessing , everyone knows what a Honda is .

Never been to Adelaide , where is that at anyway
South of Australia somewhere

Seriously , though having second thoughts about the Acura thing ?
But Sick of the "OH its a Honda "

that's the difference - down here the admirers exclaim "Wow ... that's some Honda!"

... nevertheless I reckon the Acura badge would add to the mystique... must add that to the list, but only *after* all the real performance mods are done, else NSX_SA will eject me from the club - again!

you know, I just swapped my A's for H's and it really is amusing to watch people look. You can see their faces change: 'Oooo look at the... what is tha... huh does that say.... oh, nevermind.'

+1. Especially from other Honda fans out there. I had a couple of cars stop along side of me at the stop light and still asked my what kind of car I have.

The "H" badge definitely give it a different look all together.

I personally like this for the tail center light cover...My car came with it...thanks Stevo - great vision Bro:wink:

I'm thinking of just leaving it blank....

But it's an easy job. boiling water did the trick with gentle pressure to pull it apart. It may take a while but be patient. I have NO idea what Honda used to stick em together, but it's nasty stuff. Reminds me of the IRS...
Actually looks like 8001 3M adhesive.

Okay, maybe more toward JDM look. I just thought that the "A" on the Pre 02' looks a little outdated and boring. Just my personal thoughts.

I have a couple of the OEM "ACURA" rear center tail cover. I finally got a hold of JDM "H" rear tail light cover.

I am considering rebadging to "H" in the rear or to no rear decal/badge. As to the front I have seen a couple of NSX's with no front badge and it looks very very clean. Question: Without repainting the front bumper section, is it at all realistic to think I could remove the "A" front badge and by using various grades of cleaner/polish/etc. that I could actually remove the badge and get the surface underneath to a decent/presentable level of finish absent repainting, or is that totally off the wall?

That is very possible, the two holes that are drilled in the bumper are another story though.
