Hey! I just got off the phone with Peter Hanson and he and I came up with an idea:

Come out to the Hanson School at Mosport July 1st (holiday), join us for lunch, try your car out on the skidpad, (we may even set up a drag strip area), sit in on the high performance driving classes and go for a ride on track in an NSX (mine with me driving, or Dave's with him driving - but Dave won't show since he's afraid of the comparison of skills:rolleyes: or his special driving underwear will be in the wash, or his driving shoes will be too tight and the new pair won't have arrived yet, or...)

I'd love us to get a small group, maybe 10 NSXers, to come and do this, if you are concerned about taking your car on the track this is the perfect opportunity to NOT take your car on the track but have almost all the fun that the people who WILL take their cars on track will have (It will be DOUBLE FUN if it rains a bit:biggrin:)

Please post below indicating if you can come, there will be a slight cost to cover lunch, etc. but it will be "minor"

Warning, if you're sitting in Stu's car and his right hand passes right over the shifter and on to your lap, despite all of his expainations that this is normal behaviour inside a car on a track, THIS IS NOT NORMAL.

If you want a touchless experience, you better come out in my car.

I heard the rumours from the Miata Club that Stu actively sought out instructing with that group because he figured he wouldnt get any complaints due to his wandering hands.

But please post in this thread if youre coming out for ride alongs only as if there's little interest, I may not come out for this.

You see - this is how it starts, all the trash talk, chest thumping, "Dave is actually "Super-Dave the Awesome-ist Driver"" (he trademarked that!), and then he's a no-show.

I think EVERYONE should come out and experience his "greatness" and then have a fast ride around the track with me - then people can vote on the results!

There goes Captain Cool!

I agree, EVERYONE should come out and see the spectacle that is Stu on the track. It is definately worth it. I think that he is faster walking around the track than he is driving on it, which is amazing considering how many things he climbs into to protect himself during a track day.

If you want to see someone who is all decked out with all the garb (HANS, fire suit, gloves, cool suit, nomex balclava, fireproof shoes and diapers), just come on the 1st. Stu will be there nice and early because it takes a long time to suit up! Just dont ask him to walk around; he cant!

You will not realize it is even Stu until he is able to climb out of his armour around 4PM. It is right out of Gladiator!

He may even freeze himself to the chair again. He is fully cloaked so he doesnt know until he gets up and the chair goes with him! He actually tried to sit in his car with a chair frozen to his ass last year! I think that he should just figure out some type of clamp so that he can sit in the lawnchairs in his pink porsche instead of into those racing seats he has. Lawnchairs are so much lighter and he needs all the help he can get to get around there faster than he is.

All this build up and nobody is listening!

So far, no one is coming just for rides, (looks like about 6 NSXs for track driving their cars) therefore Dave won't show and only his weird dreams of what happens at the track will "exist".

BTW - I'm bringing the NSX out to Hanson - the Porsche now LIVES at Mosport

Really?

I know that bolts have been falling off of it with each lap, but I didnt realize that so much of the car has been left at each corner that you can no longer bing it home.

RIP the Pink Porsche!

What are you getting now? You should drive your NSX on the track. IT HOLDS TOGETHER PERFECTLY and is none the worse for it.

Hey guys, if I may interject...

This is a great chance for everyone who'd like to see what its like on a track. It'll be like an (almost) free long rollercoaster ride.

This year is not turning out well for me automobile-wise. Wifey just had a baby and now with 3 very young kids its getting very hard for me to justify taking 24 hrs off (I normally need to leave Ottawa the night before and stay at a hotel in Whitby) to attend Hansons. I am as disappointed as anyone, and actually thought I'd be in to at least 2 Hanson school sessions this year. :frown:

This year I'm afraid I'm going to have to stick to local tracks like Calabogie.

For anyone even contemplating this, don't take Dave and Stu's posturing as a deterrence. It really is a fun day, will open your eyes and hopefully whet your appetite to return in your own cars. Its very controlled and safe. I thoroughly enjoyed my time last year.

Yeah, what he said^^^^

Come out. It will be fun and totally safe for you guys. I think that I even have an extra helmet that qualifies to lend out.

I'll take you guys out for a rip on a glorified go-kart track. This is not a dangerous track. Its as benign as a track could possibly be, but it is super fun!

It was designed for companies to hold corporate team building events at with F2000 cars. Put a dozen ABSOLUTE novices in F2000 cars and chuck them on the track and let them have some totally safe fun.

I would come, but i have no NSX, although a ride in an NSX would be ****** sweet. All i've got to bring is an 07 MDX or 06 RL...are they good enough?!

Stu,

I think I responded to another post about this event previously but just in case it is a figment of my imagination let once again say that I would certainly love to come out and get the X onto the track but unfortunately I have to work that day. We (my office) decided to book the Monday off so as to make it a long weekend and so I have to be in the office on Tuesday.

No prob - bring it out, the skidpad will be funny and it doesn't matter what you drive for the classroom sessions - I'll still give you a ride in an NSX!

i'll be there, where can i buy a helmet? i borrowed my friends last time and i think its time i bought my own @_@

I bought some awesome helmets for the BMW Club - worked out to be about $150 with shipping if I order one - they're Snell 2005 (thats the newest) "M" (for Motorcycle) as opposed to SA (special application) for cars (means its nomex lined) they are Kevlar and fiberglass - NICE

If you want, I'll order you one, I need to know your size, it will either be black or "creme/perl" depending on stock - otherwise you can borrow my loaner again.

Thanks,

Yes! e-mail Peter and he'll send you the package!

Tell him you're one of the NSX Crew, I want to see if we can do an NSX Only run group!
