10:30 AM meet at Factory Five Racing Facility for a tour.

After the tour will be a BBQ at a nearby State Park and driving IN THE STATE PARK!

But this will be the FIRST Joint meet with the NSX Northeast Group so lets show our support NEW ENGLAND!

DETAILS:

Here is the detail of the meet.
It will consist of the Factory Five Racing Tour in the morning, and BBQ in the nice picnic setting at a park in the afternoon.

1) The Factory Five Racing Tour (http://www.factoryfive.com/) will start at 11am, and last till 12am. Hence, everyone should be there by at the latest 10:30am.
The direction to the facility (9 Tow Road, Wareham, MA) is as follows:

From Boston Logan Airport

Take the Sumner Tunnel ($2.00 toll) and go rt. 93 south.
Follow 93 south as it becomes route 128, staying right (about 8 miles).
Take 128 to route 24 south (exits from the left two lanes).
Go 24 south to 495 south (exit 14) and go towards Cape Cod.
Take 195 west (exit 1)
Go about ½ mile to exit 21, Wareham exit. Go route 28 north (right).
After exiting off I 195 travel North on Rt. 28, approx. 1/4 mile. Tow Road is on the right, just before the first gas station. Factory Five's brand new state-of-the-art facility is the last building on the road. Call for more details. The address is:

From Providence, Rhode Island

Take 195 east to Cape Cod
About 15 miles past New Bedford, take exit 21 (Route 28 north) .
At end of ramp, turn left (then go to line 7 above).

"Our headquarters are located in Wareham, Massachusetts, right by the coast, just short of Cape Cod, MA. We are 15 minutes east of New Bedford, about 45 minutes northeast of Newport, Rhode Island and about 40 minutes due east from Providence and the new T.F. Green airport. From Boston we are a little more than an hour southeast, depending upon traffic, and from which end of the city you are departing."

2) We will then cruise to the park, and have a BBQ, chat about cars, and enjoy the afternoon.

It would be nice if a lot of you can make it!!!

Here is an update of the event.

First of all,

I Need Your Help!!!

The site for the BBQ is going to be at the Miles Standish State Forest.

http://www.state.ma.us/dem/parks/mssf.htm

After the Factory 5 Tour... we may go to a "special site" to have a photoshoot. While we do that... the president of S2000 NE will go to the BBQ area to try and reserve a spot for us, and start setting up...

Now this is where I need the help...

We need volunteers to bring the food/charcoal/drinks etc...

Soo... please let me know what you guys can offer to bring, and I'll figure out what to we will need.

Several members drove down to the BBQ site and the vicinity of the Factory five racing last night... and shared their observations. It looks like it will be a fun day!! :

"The roads in the State Park are better than I remembered! I may go around the area and do a little sweeping in a few corners to get the sand out of the road... but other than that... The roads are public roads so the only thing we need to worry about are people fishing along the side of the roads, and on comming cars... But I swear these roads are very unique! For those that have been to The Dragon... they are not as challenging as that... but so far these are the best set of roads I have driven on that compare

As for the parking area and the BBQ area. I really forgot how big the site is. The parking lot is large enough to have a good sized autocross!!! BUT... that will NOT happen We should have no problem parking.

And as for a section for us to have our own BBQ and tables? That really shouldn't be a problem There were more BBQ's set up in the area than I thought. So many that I didn't even bother counting. And the area has a great view of the lake... or is it a pond? Either way... the "body of water" is very large

Now for the do's and do not's....

No Alcohol Beverages are allowed
No Dogs
No Glass Bottles
No Fireworks
and... sorry to upset a few of you... but No Indecent Exposure

The site does have a swimming area... so if you want to bring your swimming trunks or mini bikini go for it"

Hope to see you on the 19th.

Just to add one more thing:

This will not be a rain or shine event. If it rains on the 19th, it will be rescheduled to August 2nd.

This is the final notice for the Factory Five Racing Tour and the BBQ event on the 19th of July (this Saturday).

Time of the Meet: 10:30 AM

Location: at Factory Five Racing Facility (see http://www.nsxuppereast.com/NewFiles/Misc Event.html or http://www.factoryfive.com/ for the direction)

Preliminary Event Schedule:

11:00-12:00 --- Factory Five Racing Tour
12:15-1:00 --- Cruise to the photo shoot location and photo shoot
1:15- --- Cruise to the Miles Standish State Forest (http://www.state.ma.us/dem/parks/mssf.htm) and the BBQ

What to bring (not required... only if you have them):

Cameras, Walkie-talkies, cell-phones, toys (??), swimsuits and enthusiasms!

For the BBQ:

So far, we have several volunteers who will bring charcoals, utensils, plates, hot dogs, burgers, buns, chips, sodas, and etc.

However, we may find on that day that more things are necessary for the BBQ. In that case, we will encourage the participants who did not contribute anything for the BBQ to donate (!!) $5-$10 so that one of us can run to the super market on the way to the Park to buy more foods and necessities.

Cost:

$5 for the State Forest Parking
$5-$10 for the BBQ (if you feel generous)

Rain:

In case of the bad weather, I will notify you on Friday to reschedule the event (both the tour and the BBQ) from July 19th to August 2nd.

Contact:

If you have any questions, you can contact me via this email, or my cell-phone at (617) 901-7710.

** Even if you end up not attending the event, it would help me tremendously if you could inform me whether you are planning to attend in advance. So far, I have a complete list of S2000 participants, but not the NSX participants.

*** For those are traveling from the vicinity of Boston or NH, there will be a caravan to the Factory Five Racing. We will meet at the Sheraton Tara Hotel parking lot at the same exit as the Braintree Mall (South Shore Plaza) off of 93. This exit is #6. You can't miss the big stone looking hotel building off of the exit. Meeting time at the hotel will be 8:30am since we have to be at Factory Five by 10:30 AM.... and we will leave there no later than 8:45. So please be on time. I do realize that this may be out of the way for some. Please let me know if it is an inconvenience for you to get to this location. I will then make arrangements for another meeting location, and try to plan for the two groups to meet somewhere in between. Timing has to be perfect.

i will let you know friday if i will be making the drive up...i maybe coming in on friday late as i prefer to drive at nite .,,,,,,there are less cars on the road and i will be able to make better time.......last time took me 2 1/2 hours to drive to brockton from ny

New Hampshire Convoy

Three of us are meeting at 7:00 - 7:15 AM at the (Londonderry -Park and Ride at exit 4 off Route 93). In the event any other NH guys are heading down. We may head right down to Wareham to have breakfast.

If our timing is close to 8:15 - 8:30, we may go to the Sheraton to meet the larger group.

Otherwise we will see you guys down there.

I was hoping no one would notice my terrible parking job!!!

I suppose that Rich went out to drink the day before the event, and overdosed him with endless glasses of Cognac = bad hangover the next day = cute parking job = squatting due to sour stomach?? :D :D
