I would agree that the '97 GPW in Houston is a better looking car. I prefer the classic front and PU head lamps.

i looked and test drove the 97 gpw at lambo of houston for bluebat
there was an issue with it, did someone end up buying it?

Sorry to go off topic OP, but I was also tracking the sale of this 97 GPW in Houston. According to the Lambo dealership, the car was just sold. It did not meet the reserve on ebay, but the saleperson told me they had a buyer @ $40k and it has now been sold.
I, too, noticed some issues when I drove it as well. I hope the new owner got these things corrected.
