2002 NSX automatic transmission, Silverstone with Onyx interior. Mileage 26,309.
Viewed 1-3-2020 at Encore MotorCars of Sarasota, Inc – Sarasota, FL 941-922-6337.
Back story:
I was driving to the Florida Keys and decided to run I-75 south through the western portion of Florida and then cross Alligator Alley over to Miami. First time across Alligator Alley for me. Prior to departure I noted eb*y listing of this auto NSX for sale in Sarasota. It is the NSX preceding our 2002 IOP/Orange 1 of 1/only IOP automatic trans. Had to see it.
There were twelve (12) automatic trans NSXs built for USA during the 2002 model year. This one began its life in New Jersey.
I only viewed the exterior of this NSX. I did not have key / open any doors, etc. I did not hear it run. I was told by telephone before arriving that it was not ready for viewing at this particular time. Entire console had been removed for refurb. I wanted to view it anyway.
Noted:
- listed by Encore as one Florida owner
- their price listed at $89,990
- Silverstone with Onyx interior
- Nexen tires
- Wheels nice
- Front end looks good; headlight pods look good; black mesh lower intake screen beat up
- tail lights both have heavy condensation (moisture) inside – center segment O K
- Driver’s outside seat bolster appeared nice
- Right windshield wiper bent/not making contact with glass; Left windshield wiper missing wind deflector
- Body appears “straight” but I don’t possess much of an eye for this
- front license plate holder in place
- Right corner of deck lid spoiler badly chipped away
- Console was removed for refurbishment – vents in center of I P above it as well
Impression:
- Needs lots of TLC (tender loving care)
- Appears to have been someone’s daily driver and/or commuter
- Why the console was removed and shipped to some “guy” in CA for refurbishment is unknown
- Overpriced

P.S. Getting off I-75 onto Clark Road enroute Encore I had to stop in at Gettel Acura of Sarasota. I met Gen. Mgr. Brian O'Connor ([email protected]) and thanked him for Gettel's ongoing NSX support. Nicest Acura dealership I have visited! Service Dep't was very clean - they had a 2000 NSX in for engine work.
