JGTC Parallel Exhaust - why the long tubes

I've always wondered why Taitec routed the tubes the long way on the parallel exhaust. I thought they should have done it like this...

I'm sure it saves 5 pounds, anyone know the details?

I believe its to achieve a system with equal length tube for the front and back exhaust. If they were just routed to go straight back then the front exhaust would have to take a longer route to get to the rear of the car then the back exhaust would. see the picture and follow the route...you'll see that they are equal.(Chris, I hope it's ok that I used your SOS pic for the example...think of it as a plug):D

as he said... its to keep everything at an equal length... thats how you get that exotic sounds. you know how a Ferrari 360 sounds? they sounds awesome and have that distinctive noise that everyone associates w/ the Ferrari now put an equal length exhaust on a Small Block Chevy and it will sound nearly identical when tuned. it helps in performance and in the area of acoustics, which also helps in performance. personally if i saw an exhaust show up for my car that looked like that then i would jump on it because it would make me think that someone put some serious R&D time into it.

Check out this one....

and the dyno...

I have this exhaust and I can vouch for the HP increase as well (that's my dyno print of the before and after.)

I cannot say anything about how much power they give....but I can tell you that I am a lot happier to drive my NSX now. They really change the attitude of the car.
