I cant stand this anymore. Lud, Do you know how I can get my hands on some JGTC races on tape or DVD. I got cable so I can see some real racing on Speedvision (now Speedchannel). All they really show is NASCAR (heavy pushrod ugly rolling billboards that go in circles). Thank goodness they still show Rally, motorcycle, and some GT type races (so we can at least see the comptech NSX). I hope you dont mind me posting this in the General boards Lud. If anyone has any ideas on how I can get JGTC footage let me know.

Thanks

Thanks

I thought I'm the only one that feels this way. Glad we're on the same team Blade!

I went to a local NYAAAS--KAHRR race about 1 month ago at Fontana Speedway, and to my disappointment I was....well..... EXTREMELY disapointed! I was hoping that witnessing a LIVE NYAAS--KAHRR race in person wold be more exciting than seeing it through the tube. At first it was pretty cool, seeing and hearing so many cars zooming down the track going about 170mph, mainly because I was imagining myself going 170+mph in the NSX down there on the oval track!

But after 5 minutes watching them going around in circles got EXTREMELY stale to the point my buddy and I fell asleep, even with the sun beating down our necks! Some of you here may find NYASSS-KAHRR racing 'exciting' and I apologize to those of you who didn't liked what I said. I just wanted to speak my mind....

Going back to the question, I 'think' they DO have taped JTGC races that you can buy. Don't know where, but I'm gonna try to find it through Yahoo's search engines...wish me luck!

HEy Blade you didn't mention F-1 and CART races! They're just as cool, if not cooler than all of other non-NYASS-KAHR races combined IMHO !

True, but where are the British Formula 3, Formula 3000 car races (in addition to the JTGC).

Also, why doesn't Speed Channel show vintage F1, CART, & IMSA GTP races from the the 80's and 90's. Those tapes have to be around somewhere. I would really like to see a weekly series recapping a former season of F1 races. You know..."Tune in every Monday night at 8:00pm to see the next round of the 1989 Formula 1 season". I would much prefer that to 6 hours of NASCAR Tech (if that isn't an oxymoron, I don't know what is).

ESPN has most of the footage you desire, but it appears that most of the old footage can only be seen on ESPN Classic and I have only seen old NASCAR stuff on it. I do enjoy watching some of NASCAR races on the road courses or other higher speed tracks, but I agree, most generally Speed Channel stinks on ice. You no why... Nascar has a major stake in them and in a few years there is a good chance that some of the races could go pay per view. At that point I hope someone picks up different coverage that was up to Speedvision standards.

http://www.teletech-tv.com/gtc/video/ sells JGTC tape (VHS), but I'm not sure if they will ship outside Japan.

I bought 2 VCDs from http://toyeast.com They turn out to be CD-R, probably copied from the above tapes. My copies are from the 2000 series. If anyone want a copy, email me.

Anyone has a copy of the 2001 Round 1 race, where NSX took 1st, 2nd and 3rd?
