Japan NSX Steering wheel question...

OK experts, help me out here. I just recently received a japanese edition NSX brochure. Its about 20 pages with some very nice pictures of the car with every color scheme, and close-ups of all the interior colors. In one particular picture of the steering wheel, I see that the leather is perforated, and the stitching is in red. My question is whether or not the red stitching is an option on a regular NSX, or was that Type R option only? Thanks in advance.

That may be a Zanardi edition. I saw once Major Stoner had a pic of perforated leather seats with red stitches and was on a Zanardi.... it was HOT!

Thats correct, but this brochure is for the 2002 NSX. No zanardi offered that year.

In Japan, colored stiching is available as a customization option from the factory.

Not only is this true now, but it has been true ever since the NSX was introduced in 1990.

For the US '02 models, the stitching matches the interior color...
