Did you all know that in Japan HID lights came standard on the NSX since 1997?? Maybe old news but I did not know this???

Yes, old news.

There has been a number of threads on this. Many NSX owners, including myself, wanted to retrofit those lights on US models. The bottom line is that you are better off getting an aftermarket kit. The beam pattern is not suitable for US streets, and rewiring is required to make everything work.

It's not a bolt on intallation.

Yep, i found this out in december. Guy asked if i wanted hid lights or standard? (for an +02) face lift. I picked the cheaper option ;)

New news to me! I had no idea and I'm always on NSX Prime!!

aj- would they fit OZ spec ones ?? cos I'm heading to japan in may

You have a choice with which harness, brackets blah blah when you buy the light housing, i'm going with the cheaper alternative, hid isn't that important to meh!

I think the question would be though, is it legal and would you have after market support, considering i priced 02+ lights in Adelaide at Nordic Honda before i left and they cost double what i can get them here for in Japan! I'd hate to know the price in Oz

What is an OZ? You mean S Zero???
"Oz" is sometimes used as an abbreviation/nickname for Australia.

Either that, or it refers to these folks...
