I tried search, but the function does not seem to be working. I bought the aluminum jack from Kragen that says 3000lb, including 2 jack stands that came with it.

I am wondering if it's safe to use the jack and jackstands with the NSX, or even other 4 door sedans (lexus GS). I am not sure how much my car weighs, but I would think it's more than 3000lbs. I looked up the 2004 NSX-T weight on edmunds, and it showed 3153 lbs. That's what I am basing my guess on for my car.

Since you should not use the jack to support the car for prolonged periods(use stands) and it only has to lift half the wght of the car as one side is on the ground or resting on stands then even a 1 ton jack is ok for a 3000lb car.

Yeah, what the Doc says:D

I have been using the lightweight, low lift capacity jacks on all my cars (including the two ton Lexus:eek: ) without any problems. Unless you are lifting the vehicle at a center point under the engine, you will never stress the jack.

thanks for the quick reply. Can't wait to do my own oil change :D

The jack comes with 2 stands, the box says 2 tons. I am assuming that means both stands can handle 2 tons. I am wondering, if I get 2 more stands with the same capacity, does that mean I can let the car sit on 4 stands, as all the stands add up to 4 tons?

Most jackstands indicate the weight one stand alone can sustain. So, theoretically four two-ton stands should max out at eight tons.
