Anyone here drifting out to the Speedway this Fri/Sat for the event. Never been to one B4 but want to check it out... close to work and a good excuse to discover something new.....

Its pretty fun to watch but I would love to go do a class on it to see how its done. It is usually pretty cheap to get in. I would check it out if I lived closer to the Speedway.

Hey Ryland-- good to hear from ya. Either everyone is out of town, super busy, or "Drift" is a bad word for NSXers:tongue:, cuz noone responded to my thread. I, too, have been gone a lot but got a chance to see some of the drifters practicing before the actual event. It sure makes you want to try it ---with someone else's car, of course. There were some skilled drivers that made it look easy. There's something appealing about being on the edge-- between control and mishap! ......

Hi Virgil,

I have a few friends involved in drifting; one has a Miata built for drifting, and the other has a stock S2000. I went to the last drift event w/ my friend in the S2000. Drifting is very hard on S2000's, he did some damage to the transmission, clutch, and rear end. The platform of choice seems to be a modified 240SX, that's what most people choose to run in these events.

If you want to attend one of these events in the future, let me know. I could probably get you a ride-along if you wanted one. Drifting is not my thing however, and I don't much care for all the burned rubber in the air.

I would go just to try out my new camera though. I picked up a Nikon D5000 to replace the camera that was stolen.

Regards,

Tom
