After one of the meets at Costa Mesa Acura, I had the pleasure to drive an NSX with JRZ's. This, thanks to Jon (Honda/Acura service manager). It was mind-boggling how sad of a drive home it was because my stock NSX felt like a mini-van in comparison. I'm not joking, either. Never did I think that I would spend big bucks on suspension but the handling/comfort combination was a dream come true. I've dropped many cars with different variations of shocks/coils but it just does not compare. This is something totally different in terms of the joining of performance handling and comfort.
The fact is, people that know suspension, buy the expensive stuff because when they drive their cars, they want to experience it to the best of its ability. Hey, my first car (Fiero GT, yep), I cut the coils and slammed it. It looked bad ass but it rode like a little kid bouncing on a spring rocking horse. An NSX deserves better than just a good set-up. Seriously, I'd say stop trying to guess what an extra $500 or an extra $1000 or two or three will buy you based on just reading about suspension. When you drive it, you will know where the extra money went. Upgrading one notch better at a time is probably not the most cost effective method, either.
Why am I selling them? Frankly, I have a storage full of toys. The unfortunate truth is that most of it is just acquiring dust and getting old. There was a long period when I was not well and a long period when work consumed me, eliminating all play time. Right now, I'm focused on some family priorities. So, cars are taking a back seat for me, at the moment. I am a huge fan of this set-up but I may sell my car later and if I do, it will go stock. I have these coilovers (and other parts) brand new, still in the box! FYI, I got them from the Planet Acura owner's son (sorry, I forgot his name). They were mounted on his car which was on stands. It never saw the road with them on when the family dealerships went out of business. His loss was my gain and now, your gain. The box is pretty beat up but the coilovers are new, minus the fact that they were bolted on and then off. I prefer local business (SoCal) so we can just meet at my bank and you can pick them up yourself but I will ship at your expense, fully insured only, and payment only through Pay Pal – for your security and mine. These things rarely come up for sale and there's a sound reason for that. First come, first serve at $3500.
Update: To soften the price-point, I am willing to pay for shipping, insurance, and PayPal fees; that should save $200, I'm thinking.
Trade: I'm open to a trade (suspension + cash). Make me a reasonable offer.
