it's about time...JGTC Supercars PIR

Hmmm...I though GT LIVE was all-inclusive of Super GT? At least that's the impression I got from reading this. Upon closer inspection though, it seems to only represent the supporting events(drift, X-cross, karting, RC...etc.).

You're probably right since the low ticket price almost gurantees it's not a SuperGT event. Can the moderator please delete this post since I already have enough "egg on my face"? :frown:

No worries. :) We already discussed the disappointment in a lack of quality JGTC/SuperGT stuff at the event in THIS THREAD. At this point, I'm gonna pass on it. :(

OK. I guess I missed this thread entirely. I did however get confirmation from the event organizer that "indeed, they are also very disappointed there will be no SuperGT events in the U.S. at all this year", but they are still planning on bringing them in subsequent years.:frown: I will be passing on this event as well.

Thanks a bunch for the confirmation from the event organizer.

Those GTLive organizers better get on the ball. They've already missed out on 2005 and 2006 after such a successful looking 2004 event. You'd think they'd be eager to find a way to get those SuperGT cars over here again. It's not like there isn't enough $$$$ to be made with all the increased US popularity.

Not much consolation here, but here is the e-mail I received from the organizer. It seems like at least they are trying...

"if it is any consolation, Grand Am has a set of rules in place that allows competitors to build GT300-type cars. We are working very closely with them to make sure their cars get better and more like what we are used to. You'll also start seeing more SuperGT drivers here in the US. So in a few years we'll have a lot more to look forward to domestically. Of course we'll still attempt to bring over the big show (and DTM)..."

Well I guess there's nothing we as race fans can do then but fret. Thanks anyways for the response.

yes, it is disappointing to us as well. it just didn't work out. there will be no SuperGT racing in 2006. We are going to work on getting them back over here in future years.

If so then this is a terrible disappointment from 2004. I heard there will be two GT Live events in the U.S. this year. Will the other one(if it happens), be a Supercar event?
